  • 22cm is a bit short. 50cm would have been great.

Good deal for those happy with the length.

      You sound like my girlfriend

Mate, if your girlfriend is unhappy with 22cm, I don't think you are the problem.

    These won't work on a Galaxy S3.

    • +2

which is weird because I have been using one of these on my Galaxy S3 for the last 2 months.

  • Any charge only cable?

    • Can you get those anywhere? Been looking and looking…

      • Same. I am planning on DIY, i.e. cutting open the cable to short two of the wires. As far as I can tell that's how I can get AC charging (vs USB) on my Nexus 5 from USB charge ports.

    • Why would you want that? Just wondering.

I've gotten charge only cables before.always felt they were 'scams' cause they have less wires which save on manufacturing costs.

      • Sometimes people charge from PCs and the PC insists on mounting the storage. In one case I encountered, a Kindle, it would not charge saying please unmount the storage first to charge. It's a minor nuisance though.

I also heard there is some adapter can convert a normal one to charge only.

        • It's occurred to me that as the USB power lines are on the outside, if you are adventurous, you could cut a gap in the flat cable to sever the +5 line.

Oops, that makes it a data only cable. Sorry, back to the drawing board.

The USB standard for charging is to have the two data lines shorted. This indicates to the device that it's connected to a charging adapter, not a PC host, so it can draw more than the standard 500mA.

Although it says it has data it actually doesn't as demonstrated by person cutting the cable to show it only has 2 wires.

I have one of these its very durable and serve me well. I bought this one to use on a solar battery bank. Note: The ones with data capability actually cost less.

    • There used to be sync+charge cables available that had a switch on the cable so you could use it for sync or for high current charge (ie. shorted the two wires). Haven't been able to locate any, does anyone know of brands/models of these type of cables (micro-usb)?

  • Any deals on less of the longer cables? I see some 1m cables at $1.48 at the site but the reviews say they don't last. Other shops also considered.

  • Perfect for charging my gadgets from my monitor. Thanks!

  • out of stock

  • damn i shouldn't have waited..
