  • I would have thought that a blind date would go better if there was poor lighting or other vision impairments so that the Specsavers would only be helpful if they hinder rather than help vision?

      It's a conundrum seb. In this instance I think we are suggesting that you can avoid a bad blind date by having better vision… but I'm only adding my interpretation…

    • Yes - although you can get them to give you the more expensive prescription as the freebie. Pick the more expensive box, go to checkout and put the code in. Then click 'Continue shopping' and go back and order the other box, then check out.

  • Hi Jack I placed an order last week and seem to have selected the wrong power for my contact lenses. They came a few days ago but are still unopened. Is it possible for me to take them to a specsavers store and just swap them over? I did send an email yesterday afternoon but have not had a reply yet.

  • I just ordered 9 months supply for $60 shipping. The main desktop is still flakey with a maintenance screen sometimes coming up. I used the mobile version of the website by changing the user agent in firefox without issues. I spread the orders over three different people in my house with a couple of debit /credit cards, with all orders being placed and paid for. Thanks jeffR for the WELCOME code. Now I can get a new pair of glasses in store at Specsavers with my health fund allowance. SWEEEEEET.

  • Just a tip for everyone. After making an order, the site automatically stored my credit card details, including the CVN (without asking me). Stored credit card details is one of the most common ways that credit cards are compromised. Sometimes an online store may have lax security, or not kept properly patched, and a hacker exploits a vulnerability and steals the numbers.
    After making your order(s) go into your account area, and delete your credit card from your "Wallet".
    But if you prefer the convenience of having the card stored, thats cool. I myself prefer to type the number in each time rather than it being stored somewhere.

      pretty sure there was a checkbox (selected by default) .. saying save my details in the wallet

        I must have missed it … and as you said it must have been selected by default, as I certainly didn't select it.

        • Specsavers had a checkbox for saving details, name, addy, email, prescrioption maybe. Payment was made via Worldpay, a different site to Specsaves. There was no option there to delete your CC details that i noticed.
