  • Your domain is set to expire on 19 March 14, next month…, may i ask why you have not renewed it yet?

one of mine expires next week, what is your point? There is no way i am letting it go, just havent had 5 min to shop around so i will likely just auto-renew.

Firstly, this question is directed at the rep and if at all I wish to carry out any transactions on their website/app/servers, I'd like to know…

Secondly, a payment gateway website doesn't let their domain expire within 4 weeks of advertising for new customers…, these are my doubts and you aren't a rep, so why are you(or ec) so heavily defending and negative voting my query ? its a simple question directed at the rep…

    • Just so I am clear. I am not a "Store Representative".
I am merely a friend of the developers and thought I would help share the deal with fellow ozbargainers.
Like @mycosys above, they probably haven't had time to renew it yet.

      • Ok thanks, I haven't used/seen the website before hence the doubt, but it seems many have successfully… :)

  • Downloaded the android app on my BlackBerry, redeemed successfully:

How does one split a bill? Couldn't work it out.

    • Updated the title to include friend required.

      • All good, edited my post as hadn't seen your edit yet :)

I was kinda curious about that clause too - what do we actually have to do to get the fiver?

  • +1

Hey all, one of the devs of QuicklyPay.it here.

    To answer some questions:
    - "What's to stop me doing this 10 times"
The code can only be applied to an account once
    - "Your domain is set to expire on 19 March 14, next month…, may i ask why you have not renewed it yet?"
Like mycosys and thxsmileys kindly pointed out, we have no intention of releasing it. Just haven't had the time to renew it
    - "How does one split a bill? Couldn't work it out."
Once you log in, if you press the plus button, it's fairly straight forward from there :)
    - "What do we actually have to do to get the fiver?"
All you have to do is split a bill with someone! We'll send you the fiver as soon as you've created a transaction

Thanks all, don't hesitate to let us know of any other thoughts/feedback!

    • Like mycosys and thxsmileys kindly pointed out…

There was nothing kind about it and its a very valid question, people have lost BTC via rogue websites/apps before…, I'm still catching up on what I lost at 50btc, its just a straightforward question, and you know exactly why people would ask such a thing…, so why the need to get your friends to gang up on it ?

      • -1

Congratulations on your paranoia, sorry to disappoint you but I wouldnt know any of these guys from a bar of soap. I simply (as has been said) pointed out the obvious, noting that I was also in the same boat but had no intention of letting my domain expire. I did so from the perspective of somebody who has run many websites, and their own business. It is harder than you obviously think, and something over a month away is generally not on the top of your to-do pile, particularly when you are doing a launch before then.
I am sorry that you are incapable of reading the initial post and therefore didnt know that there was no company rep in the thread, just a friend of the devs helping them get the word out.
Further I take offence at your accusation of 'ganging up' on you. First, it impossible gang up on somebody when you have not in any way shape of form acted against them, in fact instead attempting to help them. I have also not negged you, a fact i will prove by giving you a positive, not because you deserve it (far from it), but so you can see my name and know for sure it is me and i have never negged you (which would be impossible to turn into a positive).
I also take offence at your inference that I have broken forum rules by failing to declare an association with the company. I have not, and have no such association.

I am sorry that you have previously let yourself get ripped off by your own incaution, but that is not my problem and nor is your obviously severe paranoia, and I would strongly advise you to seek some help. The world is not out to get you.

        • There - Pos for your initial post and a neg for your rudeness in your reply

        • I am sorry that you have previously let yourself get ripped off by your own incaution, but that is not my problem and nor is your obviously severe paranoia, and I would strongly advise you to seek some help. The world is not out to get you.

I never knew you had that much to say to someone on here, I'd say you have more issues… lol

50btc was one of the the biggest BTC mining pools…

I'm not going to split and comment on your ignorant/paranoid/health related rant…

This is a post advertising a BTC related service, the question I asked the rep is quite valid for me…, what I don't understand is the whole purpose of your comment/s, which just ridiculed my question and went on from there…

    • Hey mate - could you clarify a bit on the fees your friend mentioned above?

Have to say it is an impressive looking platform.

I wondered how much batter it tends to use, and about what these permissions are for?

      Your location
      approximate location (network-based)

      Phone calls
      read phone status and identity

      Storage
modify or delete the contents of your USB storage

      Your accounts
      find accounts on the device

      Development tools
      read sensitive log data

      System tools
      test access to protected storage

      • Hi MyCosys,

Thanks mate, and thanks for clarifying your comments earlier

        Answers inline:
"Could you clarify a bit on the fees your friend mentioned above?"
The fees are 3% + .30 of each transaction. We're looking to bring this down substantially in the next month or so down to 1.5%.

        "Your location
        approximate location (network-based)"
We get general locations of transactions for record keeping purposes. We keep things a high-level (i.e. not GPS), and only use in cases of disputed transactions.

        "Phone calls
        read phone status and identity"
You'll find this permission in most apps. Its only used to return the app to the state it was in in the event of a phone call as you're using the app. If you don't include this permission, apps often crash when someone calls in the middle of using the app

        "Storage
modify or delete the contents of your USB storage"
To store data from the app. Rest assured, sensitive data such as your credit card details are not stored here

        "Your accounts
        find accounts on the device"
When you register for the first time, we try to make things easier for you by pre-filling what we can find from your device

        "Development tools
        read sensitive log data"
This helps us debug issues you may come across when a support request comes in

        "System tools
        test access to protected storage"
This is similar to the permission above, and we also use it for non-critical encrypted data (such as your name, email, transactions, etc)

        Hope that helps!

  • Thanks for letting us know. By split a bill do you just mean send money to someone?

    • Or requesting!

  • +11

I would try this, but as the title suggest "Requires Friends" :(

    • I'll be your friend

  • I downloaded app on ios and registered but not able to enter promo code as when I click on promo code from menu it always takes me to invite friends. Am I missing something?

    • Not quite inviting friends. The coupon is applied when you request or send money to someone in the app

      • As in, when pressing Promo Code, it goes to the Invite Friends screen instead of the screen where you enter the promo code.
An array problem, off by 1?

    • It did that for me too for a while
Then suddenly it worked when I tried again randomly

      • Strange seems to be working fine on this end. Android or iOS? I'll look into it. If you cant get to it though, send us an email at [email protected] with the number you registered with, and we'll apply the code onto your account.

        • iOS 7.
Workflow was install app, sign up, at the main page open the side menu and try tap Promo Code.

      • didn't work for me… :(
        Cant enter promo code.
Sent email to support, Kindly add from your side.

No friend of Windows Phone; no friend for Windows Phone
    :-(

  • Where's the bitcoin stuff?

    • When you send a payment or pay someone back, you have the option of paying using your credit card or bitcoin (the recipient will receive the AUD equivalent)

  • +2

In my experience "Requires friend" and IOUs rarely go together, as soon as I try to collect on IOU they are no longer a friend…

    • Thats exactly what we've worked hard to fix. The app does a number of things to make things less awkward. Namely:
      - You can see when your request for payment was seen by those who owe you money (think like Facebook and Whatsapp)
      - In a group environment, everyone is aware of who's paid and who hasn't. If you're the last person to pay, everyone knows your shame!
      - The app sends automated reminders to those who owe you money on your behalf
      - The language is non-confrontational. When reminding someone of an unpaid bill it doesn't say "Joe wants his money back, pay him now", but rather "QuicklyPay.it reminds you of the XX you owe Joe". In this way, the person owing money doesn't feel harassed by Joe, but rather feels like its an automated reminder.

      Obviously feedback much welcomed

  • If i request payment from my mates how long do I have to wait before the cash is in my bank?

    • +1

Currently it takes 3 business days to be in your bank account, but we're looking to shorten that to 1 business day in a month or so when we refactor the way we handle transactions.

      • what's refactor?

        • Basically changing the way we handle the transactions so that we can process them in a quicker way

        • Thanks. 1 last thing though are they handled manually? Will there be a possibility that someone will mistype my account number if I choose to use the service?

        • Nope, they are processed automatically in batch. That said, our system sometimes flags certain transactions for us to review manually, but generally most transactions go through in an automated way

  • Which androids do you support? I've got 2.3 which is not compatible I guess?

    • It is indeed compatible with Android 2.3 handsets (even the tiny ones!)

  • A shame it took so long to settle, weekend didn't help. Missed the OzBargain ride I guess.
    (Received my promo $5)

  • Had money taken out of my credit card account on 14/2 but yet to receive any funds via EFT. It has been 12 days thus far. Not good at all. I am beginning to think I've been scammed.

    • I emailed the app devs and the issue is being resolved. Kudos for the prompt reply & explanation via email.
