Grapes are rich in compounds known as phytonutrients - active substances in plant foods which appear to help fight disease and enhance health.Menindee seedless white grapes are thoroughbreds of the vine, making brilliant eating. They have a light green skin, no seeds, and a firm, crisp, fresh-tasting flesh.Refreshing Superior seedless grapes have a mild sweet flavour and a crisp texture. They are considered one of the best eating grapes due to its wide appeal.

Green table grapes come from the major growing regions of Sunraysia and the Murray Valley in Victoria, the Riverina in NSW and south-eastern Queensland. Table grapes are hand-picked by growers to avoid bruising and to ensure you are getting the very best selection. When buying grapes, the best thing to do is to go for firm, plump clusters that are securely attached to their stems and these should be green not brown.

To keep grapes fresh it’s best to store them in an airtight container in the fridge. Wash with water just before use. Grapes are a great snack that can be eaten by themselves at anytime. Also try with fruit salad, savoury salads, added to cheese plates and used to decorate cakes, Pavlovas, Cheesecakes and fruit flans.

  • Damn that's cheap!

  • Not sure if its a old wives tale but apparently there is more nutritional value eating the stems than the grapes.

    • +1

Sounds like something your mother-in-law would tell you to do just to get a laugh.

    • well the stems are better for making grappa!

  • All this nutritional information, you'd think you're selling us Bacon.

which store is your local store?

can anyone confirm if this is nationwide or if it's at least available to a certain state?

EDIT: aaaaand I just realized it's that price on their online store

    • Since it's the price @ online store, most probably it's nationwide.
My local store is Fairy meadow, NSW 2500.

      • Did you pay $1.48/kg or $1.98/kg?

        • It was $1.48/kg for sure.Is it $1.98/kg in any store?

        • It's $1.98/kg on the online store link you have provided.

        • Really????
It shows as $1.48/kg for me.
          Screen clip
May be that's the price for NSW.

Found the problem. It's $1.98/kg in Melbourne . I get $1.48/kg when I change my postcode to 2XXX.

        • Thanks.
          I will edit the title… :)

It's also $1.48/kg in 4000, $1.68/kg in 5000 and $2.98/kg in 7000 and sometimes different prices for regional areas compared with capital cities.

        • I get $1.68/kg in SA. Anyway, great price for those who can get them at $1.48/kg.

        • Thanks unity1.
          It's $1.48 @ 5000
You are correct, price is not 1.48/kg in some states.

Still $1.68/kg for me. You will find if you add one to your basket the price will change accordingly.

I was going to reply that they were probably six bucks a kilo in WA. Far out, that's a great price.

    Thanks OP.

Grapes go well with chorizo and finely chopped parsley with a sherry vinegar dressing. Black grapes are best, but at this price……

    Grape salad is also interesting.

  • The reason its not included in the weekly catalogue is because Coles had a late week special on grapes for a similar price, and Woolworths just copied them.

    • +1

They don't. I also went to my local coles on weekend they didn't.

  • +2

Woolies definately ain't fresh. If you want fresh, go to your local green grocer.

I am in NSW 2125 . The online price back to 2.98 per kg now

    • Unfortunately yes. Not sure what is store prices now. May be that was a weekend only offer. I marked deal as expired anyway.

  • $1.70 at Coles Melbourne

  • Make sure you DO taste them yourself. We bought a few bunches of these same grapes about two weeks ago and most were like lemons.

    • They sell two types of green grapes. Thompson Seedless Grapes and Menindee Seedless Grapes. I can confoirm that this one is sweet but you may correct on thompson's one. Anyway, it's good to taste before buying.

The bag was still in the fridge. Has no variety mentioned, just "White Seedless", "Product of Australia", and "PLU4022" printed on it.

        • This bag is labelled as:
          "Menindee Seedless
          Product of Australia
          TCV1"
Then those are not the same type.

  • But lemons are $4.98kg so an even bigger bargain

Great find WNK. By the way, green grapes are $1.79 at Coles right now. Just bought some in Coburg. Cheers.

i'm been having them all morning,
    well, processed grapes,
    actually, I've been drinking wine.

  • Not sure why this is marked as expired, still cheap at MacArthur Centre Woolworths.

    • May I know how much it is?

$1.98 at my local woolies in Hervey Bay QLD

  • Man, we have vineyards spread across the country from wa to tasmania. Yet the price of grapes rare comes down below $3-4 a kilo. something ive never understood lol. While yes, table grapes require a bit more labour, but in the end Vines are almost weeds, they are so easy to grow, and produce large yields… So why do grapes cost $4 a kilo >_>

    $1.98 at Gasworks Woolies (QLD)
