Buying a new mattress

So I went shopping for mattress. A Latex top mattress with pocket springs in a queen size. and the cheapest I could find was $650 from Homebase in prospect and that too with a wait time of 3 months. But then I ebayed it and found the same kind of a thing for $179. I saw the reviews and no of buyers and got blowen away. Is it really worth buying it? I know mattress differ from person to person and i am a kind of a guy who gets backaches with a wrong mattress.

But again who wouldnt like to save money when there is so much of it to save.

  • if you can spend a bit more then i suggest a pure latex mattress as per https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/116271#comment-1590342 :)

  • For mattresses, I go for forty winks :) Their Tempur mattress has 15yrs warranty

  • How much?

    I live in Adelaide.

  • I was once told by a very good (or smart)sales man that not many people spend big money on a bed which they spend more time on than anything else. 6-8 hours a night that almost 1/3 your life

a $1000 mattress over the life span of 10 years (I think that's what is recommended)that's 100 bucks a year

$100 bucks a year on your health and well being doesn't seem that much
needless to say I bought a $1200 mattress in the company of others that cost 3 and 4 times as much. maybe I don't value my health all that much
