Hoyts movie vouchers on eBay 100 @ $4.50 each - group buy?

Happened to see this while browsing for any bargains in the tickets/vouchers section on e-bay.

Someones selling 100 Hoyts movie vouchers for $450 = $4.50 each. (and they've got 4 lots!!)

Apparently they are left over from a promo. The seller has 100% feedback (on 159 reviews including 33 sales) so think it's probalby legit. (but you never know!) The seller is based in Sydney, but will post.

They expire in March 2014 and only valid Mon - Thurs - so you're probably not going to have enough time to see them all yourself (challenge accepted!), but may be worth it if anyone wants to go in for group buy?

I could try and facilitate this, but can see it getting a bit messy and time consuming if people only want 1 ticket, following up on payments, etc etc.

As time = money, thinking of saying 4 ticket minimum and adding a small booking fee of $1.50 per ticket = still a bargain $6.00 movie ticket for you = $24 total and posted free. (I'm in Wahroonga, Sydney, but don't go into the city very often, so it'd be a bit hard to arrange for meet-ups. Happy for you to pick-up if you are nerby. I could arrange a special trip into the city if you want a big quantity.)

Or if you've got 99 friends, go crazy on this deal!!!

  • wow, March 2014? So we only have a week to use them? I think they should be cheaper.

Tickets expire at the end of March, so just over a month to use them.

Sounds a like a great buy for a company looking to purchase some incentives / rewards for staff.

As long as the staff can go mon-thurs :p

Count me in for some tickets if you are willing to facilitate this.

I also agree you would want to limit tickets to a minimum of at least 4. Thats 2 trips to the movies for a couple in ~1 month which I don't think is unreasonable.

    • Cheers for the reasonablness test. Doesn't look like we have many takers at this stage to make it happen. Will have to make do with the Coke Rewards ones.

Don't bother danyool, facilitating 100 tickets in such a short amount of time is such a headache you'll probably end up worse off.
Just enjoy watching stress free with the $10 tickets from Optus and Telstra.

    • Depends how many people want them in bunches of 20! At the current rate… not very many! Come on - i'd do a sweet deal on 20!! :-)

  • That's a lot of tickets! Most I can watch at rare cases are 3 per week, but now 1. Great if your a movie fanatic, but afraid if you run out out if movies before you finish the tickets!

    • Yeah, bit of a shame they don't have long till expiry - but i guess that's why they're cheap! Would be worth it if a few people were interested to do a group-buy, 25 people x 4 tickets each = 100, but sofar only got 1 or 2.
