      I don't think it's a Valid reason to neg.

  • Two things:

    1. Use the search function. These have been as low as $139.99, and have routinely been posted around the $150 dollar mark.

    2. This drive has a horrible enclosure. Mechanically the Barracuda ST4000M000's are fine and quite speedy for 5900RPM HDDs but that enclosure has damn near cooked my two drives on multiple occasions (it'll hit 50C easily on a hot day). One of them is continually giving me a failed SMART Airflow Temperature attribute and randomly gets unresponsive to the point of me having to plug it in and out. If you have a warm-ish room, definitely just take it out of the damn enclosure and put it in your HDD dock or inside your PC.

      1. I used the search function before I bought it. That's why I posted the deal - after the searching I did I couldn't find anything cheaper at this point in time.

      2. I do plan to liberate the drive from its enclosure

    • yes. i bought them a year back, only cost me $160 include shipping from Amazon, now the price is ….. toooo expensive!

  • This drive is $150 + $10 postage from Amazon at the moment. I think that's about $175 Australian pesos at the moment.
