So, after reading "usama91's" post, I was wondering what is the true value of money?
I would like to know from my fellow ozbargainers what amount of money given to you right now, today, would warrant a life changing amount?

500k would be plenty life changing. Sure it wouldn't go far if you start buying houses and yachts etc, but if you put it to work and be smart about it, it could set you up for a comfortable life.
I view this as what is the minimum amount to be life changing… $20m would obviously be the most life changing, but $0.5m would (for me at least) also be life changing in that it would change the way we currently live.

Being able to buy property/Get rid of a mortgage is a big deal currently.
With house prices the way they are, mortgages are a literal 'millstone'

I would be happy with this amount to cover mortgage for me , pay off my parents home and help other family also to cover my husband and I for retirement. I would be livin' it up! but still working as a hobbie.
