It seems Samsung 840 EVO series SSD is on sale at Amazon and Newegg.

So the prices at Amazon are:(US$)
250GB: $139.99
750GB: $359.99
1TB: $494.95

Shipping for 1 unit is US$8.59. Limit 5 per customer

According to 3 camels, those are the best prices so far. I reckon $422.56 for 750G delivered is excellent value. Local prices are over $550. $422 is by Amazon currency converter, you should do better by using 28degree card.

500GB is US$279, not the cheapest, just for reference

Edit: As foobar kindly pointed out, now 750GB is $409 delivered! Sweet!

  • The 250 gb turns out to be $169 AUD delivered with amazon converter, so its around $19 cheaper than Australian retailers

  • The 750 is the sweet spot in this deal, ships at $409AUD using Amazon to do the conversion so it's the worst possible choice of conversion I know, but it still only comes in at 54.5c per gig. Same drive is around the $529 mark locally.

Ahh I see the OP has done some calculations, looks like the 750 has dropped another $10USD since they posted.

I contacted Samsung Australia. They couldn't give me a clear answer as the SSD warranty wording is ambiguous. They promised to contact level 2 support and give me a clear answer on Monday.

        • Any news on this?

Just got a call from Samsung Australia. According to Samsung, SSD's do NOT come with International Warranty. They also apologised and promised to update the website wording.
