    Nice Phone…
    Very Cheap!

Just one Question: Is this UNLOCKED phone?

    • +1

On Vodafone NO but through optus it is free to be used on any network it also has quadband gsm meaning it can be used in virtually any country without setting up roaming!

      • manning, why did you retract your positive vote?

        • oh that was an accident meant to click a link :( MY BAD!

      • Just say it is LOCKED to Optus! Ok…

        • +3

it is unblocked when you buy it through optus. but if u buy it through vodafone it has a 12 month lock

Looks like a great phone - just be aware that it is a 2G phone only unfortunately :(

    • i suppose thats a down side but usually for this you would expect to pay around 300-400 dollars plus for the features of this phone.

      • also many areas of australia dont have great 3g coverage anyway unless you live in the city there is no use.

        • +1

Are you sure? I had a weekly commute with over 1 hour of driving with zero GSM coverage, but nextg worked fine.

  • I wished these companies who bring out their own smart phones would just throw in an internal GB nand drive. It would at least make it a semi competitor against other smartphones. The iPhone is already up to 32GB.

    • this is the case and it dissapoints some people but there just trying to get people to buy phones they dont really care if 1 feature isn't there they want you to buy the more expensive models but if its got the basic features you want at a cheap price i say wat the heck get it. True but this is the baby of the so called "next Generation" lg touch phones. hte middle class is the renoir which has higher megapixels and wifi. and then the arena which is their latest release which is again better with a 8 megapixel camera video calling capabilities and 802.1 wifi speed.

  • any 3G version of this phone?

    • The next model up is the renoir which has 3g but your looking at about $400 or more

  • lol found cheaper one $225 unlocked version at http://www.mobileciti.com.au

    • It is cheaper their but i would rather buy from a retail outlet or trusted direct site for the security of my credit card and its only 4 dollars diference which doesn't make that much difference on a price over $200. Also they lied saying the original price was $399 when it is $299.

  • Does this work on the Three network, seeing that it's only 2G?

    • No way.

    • -1

It should three still offers a 2g service it is just does not have a coverage as good as their 3g service

      • No, three won't allow 2G phones on their network. They operate a 3G network only, and roam onto 2G Telstra. 24/7 roaming onto telstra would cost them money.

  • Ok i didn't know it was roaming i thought it just used telstra signals as three is owned by telstra

    • No they're not :/

3 and Telstra share some towers in a 50/50 ownership deal, but neither owns a part of the other company.

  • Dick Smith is the same price. Go Dick.

  • Wow, I am going to have one.

  • man that video is disturbing

  • heyy man.
im going to buy one of these phones tomorrow. but before i do i want to make clear that it will deff work with my telstra sim??
you were saying if i buy the optus one it will work with my telstra sim card correct?
    would lovee a hand mate.
    cheers.
    Simon

  • anyone?????

    • it really should i can be 99% sure if not you should be able to get one through a telstra dealer or harvey norman as they are likely to match the price, but a telstra version.

  • I have just found out the known supported networks of the LG KP500:

    Telstra
    -3(using roaming)
    Optus
    -Boost
    Vodafone
    Virgin
    Soul
    AAPT
all the above have been proven to work with the phone but im not sure if this particular test phone was bought from K-Mart.

  • hmmm, you were saying if i get the vodafone one its locked for 12 mths.
but on the optus should work with my telstra sim.
i have actually had a optus phone before and my telstra sim works with it.
so maybe give it a shot eyy, and Kmart has a good return policy anyway :P

  • Does anyone know what colour this phone comes in at kmart? I want black, or maybe silver but I've only seen gold/bronze. Or does anyone know where I could get a black or silver one??

  • Hey does anyone know if i get this phone and unlock it n put a telstra next g sim in it if it will work?
