Been playing Titanfall for about 3 Hours, played early by starting up game using VPN and turning it OFF.
Nearest server is Japan (400+ ping), you will be versing players with 20-100 ping.
They said they will open local server in Australia but nothing yet/still.

Part of the beta test was to test out server loads.
It's been said that Titanfall uses MS's 'Azure' servers for the game and AI. The Australian (Sydney?) farm isn't operational yet and may not be until closer to Q4 2014.
Any official source to that?
I think this was announced months ago that there will be no Australian server for the beta. This is because that Titanfall will run on Azure Servers which Australia doesn't have yet (it will be done somewhere mid this year?)
I get a decent 150 ping to SEA server.

To be fair 150ms ping can't be described as decent. It's really poor and can't be very playable unless you really want to play bad enough. With all the other shooters why waste your time with this until it's playable (if they do ever get the servers here)
Besides that, this is no longer a beta is it? I thought today was US release day and 13/3 is the full Aussie launch?
150ms ping was very playable. A little bit of lag sometimes but not game breaking.
Maybe I'm just not as disconcerning as you.
Yeah I get annoyed if I can visibly see a difference in ping, especially so on killcam (not sure if there even is one on TF)
They did say that there would be no Australian servers previously.
Hopefully the 'we'll have good news soon for the aussies', Vince Zampella tweet is hinting at some new Azure servers for Aus. Definitely not gonna preorder or purchase until we get something here.
So you're using a VPN so you can get around the delayed AU release, then complaining because there are no AU servers yet?

Where did he complain about no local servers? I must have missed that. He simply said the ping is 400+ which is fair enough.

The fact is he is bypassing the local release date in order to play, which is fine, I've done that for other games too, but don't expect there to be full local support in place if you do so
To me it looks like he is just informing people who are sitting on the fence.
Titanfall is out, still no Aussie servers.

All the servers aren't on yet cause there's no need to turn on servers in places where the game isn't out. This was confirmed here. Presumably the servers are being activated somehwhat along the times in the launch schedule. Upon proper launch in has our closest server should be South East Asia (this was closest in beta). But it hopefully shouldnt be long before we get local servers

You might be playing someone, but to say "you are versing someone" makes no sense in english.
Versus is a Latin, not English, word meaning "against." You can't then apply english amendments to the latin word.
