That is a good phone. She should definitely be happy with it.

As far as I know, there is no Australian distributor and although DX can be slow on occasion, I have always found they deliver in the end. Pay a few dollars more and go for the Australian delivery option by clicking AU instead of Worldwide.

It will still be sent from China but will get here nice and quickly.

    http://www.chinavasion.com is apparently THL's official partner/distributor.

I actually bought this phone from the Australian DX (aud.dx.com) store last night. Returns/warranty etc go through a Australian branch in Sydney meaning that if something breaks your not stumping up big postage costs to send it back to China.

    • Australian DX store sounds good :)

      thanks ragee

    • I had to return a THL device to DX once (located in Sydney), and they also reimbursed me the shipping fees ($8.10)

good find, sub $240 device with 32GB of ROM seems unbelievable. I paid $190 USD for a 4GB THL W8 not too long ago..

  • Just so you're aware, this is 850/2100MHz only for 3G.. meaning it's only ideal if you're connected to Telstra..
Optus will be OK in the city but 2G in the country, Vodafone coverage will be OK in the city and mediocre in the country.

  • thanks all for your valuable advice..

i bought below, courtesy to ragee from Australian store and cheaper too ($208.56) :

    • I think DX are charging USD on their Australian site.
And this phone is only 1280x 720, I think the T100s has better spec. you can pick one up from Ebay for around AUD $250~$270. http://www.ebay.com.au/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_sacat=0&_okw=&_…

I bought a Zopo ZP980+ for $232, hopefully it will arrive next week

    • Just a heads up. Customer service today said they don't have the phone in stock at the moment and are looking at between 1-7 business days. Absolutely no communication from their end…

  • scubacoles what is the recomended mhz for optus in aus?

      900(regional)/2100(metro)MHz for Octopus.

      • ^This
But be aware that you need to specifically look at the WCDMA (3G) specs for these numbers.
Just cause a phone has 900MHz GSM (ie 2G) doesn't mean it supports 900MHz 3G.
