Don't think it works like that :-(

Eitherway, I think the Trophy range is very good value.

    • looks like a nice car, congrats.

Does Audi price match with Hyundai??

I tried Merc and BMW but no luck

Oh no - please can there be an OzB rule to not include car company related deals!
We're bombarded by car manufacturer advertising at every turn: billboards, newspapers, television, radio

Whether it be 1.5% finance, factory bonuses, $1000 cashbacks — there is always some type of 'deal' going on…..

A real bargain would be buying second hand/used in near new condition.

Agree, I don't think this is a good deal at all.

I just bought a 2012 Hyundai i30 auto with new car warranty until end September 2017 (so 3.5 years), not a scratch on it, low kms, just serviced, full tank of petrol and 6 months rego for $15,000 incl stamp duty. And that wasn't even a "special", it's just a standard wholesaler price for ex fleet cars…

New cars are NEVER a bargain.

      • is that a new shape?

Hi, was wondering where did you buy your car from please? this actually is a fantastic deal.

      • +1

Fleet or rental? There's a lot of i30 ex rental cars around. Sure if you'd like to save some money by buying a thrashed car, go right ahead ;)

And if you pick the right new car, you can actually get a bargain. New Swift only loses roughly $1,500/year in resale. That's not bad surely

  • I think at any time you can buy an i30 at $18,000. Not sure this is much of a bargain, although the trophy range is fairly good value.
Need to be careful though. Sometimes they give discount on one thing, and take another away (such as a year of free rego or a full tank).

    • I don't think they can take away rego. Didn't the accc make them state drive away prices only.if it doesn't have rego it's not driveaway.

      • They gave me 6 months instead of the advertised 12 months

  • I love the new i30…Almost bought one last year. This is not a bargain as i would happily be without $1000 gift card and get 2014 model. Think about resale value… i have never negged a deal but i am close to negging this

They could offer $10,000 still no way I'd get a Hyundai. Would rather become a pedestrian.

  • So 2013 compliance model? That's sneaky…
2014 compliance model is the latest.

My experience this is simply a way to get publicity so I agree with tommyc.

In the end it always ends up costing you what they want it to cost you, lots more if you go through their finance.

Haggle the price down a grand and they'll say "yea ritto but I can't give you the Eftpos gift card" etc

In the end unless its gunna make them commission they'd rather let you walk off the lot

I have actually been looking at the prices on their website for a while. For some models, the drive-away price was actually $1000 less (roughly) before they introduced the $1000 eftpos card offer.

    • Whose website?

      • hyundai's

  • Hasn't someone created a price watch/trend site for new models of vehicles by now?! ;-)

  • Ix35 models have gone up in price for sure as my friend went to get one and they want just over a thousand more than they quoted him in January..

So he bought a Kia sport age instead on principal..

Which may be better than buying a Holden Captiva as they real depreciate in price.
