Pebble Smart Watch $125 USD Delivered with Runkeeper iPhone or Android Free App

80

I received this offer from Runkeeper on the weekend as an email after taking a run. The unique link in the email goes straight to getpebble.com (the manufacture's online sales site). I used it to purchase a Pebble smartwatch for $125 USD delivered to Australia. Credit card only.

From March 11th to this year’s Boston Marathon on April 21st, Pebble will be rewarding the RunKeeper community with exclusive discounts ($25) off any of their awesome smart watches, plus free shipping. To qualify you must meet the following criteria:

Track at least one GPS activity (running, walking, cycling…etc) with the RunKeeper iPhone or Android app. But act fast! Only the first 500,000 RunKeeper users who log that activity will get the discount!
Once you’ve completed that workout any time from now until April 21st, keep an eye on your email inbox for a link to redeem the discount!

I missed the Dick Smith deal a few weeks ago and have been waiting for something to come up. This is close, but not quite as good. Will have to wait and see how the exchange rate comes in.

    Limited to only 500,000?

  • Will have to wait and see how the exchange rate comes in

    Currently $1.13AUD = $1USD (PayPal exchange rate).

    So $125USD comes to ~$141.25AUD.

I might have to re-order my Steel, although that will put me to the back of the queue (I've already been waiting 5 weeks).

I use RunKeeper every day and even though the features of the Pebble/Runkeeper app are quite limited I couldn't get the idea of having my progress on my wrist while I rode/walked, I went to order the standard pebble using this discount when it came through but then I saw the Steel…Steel brothers, high five! :) (in 6-8 weeks)

I just walked .1km and uploaded my result. The things we do for a discount!

    • Did you get the email yet? I'm still waiting on mine.

no email yet, can the OP advise how long it took for them to get their email?

      • Run uploaded on Sunday 08:45, email received Sunday 09:13.

        • I wonder if there is a minimum distance before email is sent, what distance did you do uzz30?

        • The webpage doesn't say there's a minimum distance. Maybe they've hit 500,000 already?

        • +2

A minimum distance would be a bit mean and probably self defeating when you want to get people to use your app and buy your partner's smartwatch. But I did get the email after a particularly long run of 30.89km.

Since the promo started on March 11 I've logged these activities.

          • 03/17 6.12 km. Running
          • 03/16 30.89 km. Running
          • 03/15 1.81 km. Other
          • 03/15 3.00 km. Rowing
          • 03/15 3.88 km. Running
          • 03/11 11.37 km. Running

          I wouldn't recommend going out and running 30km for a $25 discount. :)

        • I just ran 45km on my treadmill to participate.
          It says distance travelled 0m
          FML

        • Doesn't it work off GPS?

        • Sure does work off GPS. ilostnemo = irony

        • lol, I hope this is an attempt at comedy, either way, mission accomplished!

  • No email received after 7 hours. I've logged three activities, two very short ones and a 3-4km one.

I might have to neg this, as it appears to be expired?

  • I got this email as well but I've been using the app for a while. Not interested in buying the watch but as a tip this is why you keep your old small Android phone (eg. HTC Wildfire S). I use it for GPS tracking with an app like this. Much cheaper and easier to carry than a big current phone ;-)

    • I had an existing account, but hadn't used it for years until today. I imagine they have a pretty high number of active uses who would have exhausted the 500,000 vouchers in the first couple of days even if they weren't interested in the Pebble.

  • There was a post on the Runkeeper Facebook page on the 15th that said that emails were going to be sent out on the following Friday for this promo. Maybe they are sending the emails out in batches?

    • Are you sure that isn't in relation to the RunKeeper Elite promo?

      • Your right, it was the elite promo :(

        • Incorrect, that deal is referring to the 3 months of free elite if you connect a Pebble using the RunKeeper app.

I don't have Runkeeper elite but I did get the promo email for $25 off.

EDIT: Oh i see now, nevermind ;)
