Was looking around for a new HP Gen8 Microserver and found that Umart had lowered the price to $329 pickup. Was previously $329 + shipping at ShoppingExpress during their last promotion. I'm unsure if they do delivery or what the cost would be.

Takes 1-2 days to get it in once you place a pickup order.

Oh how we wish you could do 6 HDD's like the old model, why HP why?
    I got 6x3TB into my N54L and a pci-e video card and a pci-e usb3 card and a SATA port replicator for the 7'th disk (SSD) ……

    Hate this new model >:(

    • What did they do to it that you can't stuff 6 drives into it anymore? I still have the original first one, works fines but sometimes I wish it was a bit more snappy.

      • They replaced the 1/2-height 5.25" bay with a laptop-sized optical drive bay.
        Not a surprising move.

BTW, why do they say "non hot plug"?
My old microserver can hotswap drives despite saying this.

        • Only with a hacked firmware.

        • I'm running linux, and I can remove drives and insert new ones without rebooting.

Perhaps they refer to using hardware RAID?
