      • I found out I had cancer more than once from the web…

    • You should trust yourself that you have to ability to understand the available information. Try going to a library.

You know neither groups of people personally, you just went with the ones who wears a white coat in your mind.

Nope. Nope and Nope. This is the problem with people like you sintro.

You don't realise that just having the source material in front of you does not make you an expert. You have to understand the source material, and other material that relates to it.

You aren't suddenly a lawyer by reading a law book.
You aren't suddenly a psychologist from reading Freud.
You aren't a carpenter because you watched a youtube video on how to make a staircase.
You aren't a doctor because you read an article on a blog.

Usually I tolerate idiotic opinions, but being anti vaccine because some children who had shots also have autism is not just an idiotic opinion, it is a very dangerous opinion to hold because others will die as a result of following it.

        • I don't know where you are coming from mate. I don't believe I said any of the stuff you just made up.

I basically mentioned self study to help with your own decision making and actions.

      • "..the ones who where a white coat.."? Are you serious? I don't trust them because of the "white coats"; I trust them because of the years of training, hard work and dedication that the doctors and scientists put into their field. Honestly.. the arrogance of the anti-vaccination movement never ceases to amaze me.

        • +1

          You amaze me too.

I suggest to people to read the Fluarix product information sheet and I get branded with derogatory names.

If I don't like a TV show are you gonna call me anti-television?

        • Just so I can get my facts straight. You aren't anti-vaccination? You approve of vaccination but you have issues with this particular vaccine?

        • +1

He believes smallpox was eradicated by people washing their hands more often.

        • sixfthick, since you got the shot already.
Could you please tell me the name of the vaccine they offered for free? Thanks.

        • You love twisting words Modokun.

        • Fluvax

        • He and the others didn't ask after all it was free.

        • Fluvax.. you didn't answer my questions..

        • -1

Actually.. don't bother. I've had enough of this discussion.

Good deal, saved me $25. Thanks OP

Checking the thread to get a free flu shot and ending up sick from all the argument going on.. Priceless.

  • +1

I had the 2014 seasonal Flu vaccine a week or so ago, and my son had it on Monday (he's 5 turning 6). I had the Fluvax CSL version (made/developed in Australia) and my son had the same one diluted appropriate to his age/weight etc.

The only side effect I have encountered is penile shrinkage. My son complained of the same ailment. You heard it here first!

  • Thanks for the heads up.

I hate needles, but I hate paying for them even more. The nurse was actually one of the best needle-givers I've had - very quick and pretty painless.

  • +1

Great initiative but poorly organised. My folds just got stood up because the nurse didn't turn up. Wasted whole morning waiting and $32 on train tickets.

    • +1

…you spent $32 on a train ticket to get a free ~$20 injection?

      • But it was free. roflmao

  • There are some serious flu strains that will kill you. I'll be getting my shot.

      Yeah real "safe"

    • The usual marketing campaign… * yawn *

"This long-standing myth that winter can give you influenza is totally wrong."
