Norton Antivirus 2014 - 6 Months Extended Trial (Means free for 6 Months)

110

I personally don't like Norton products but received this email and thought someone might need a free antivirus.

Take note this freebie is really an extended trial of Norton AntiVirus 2014 instead of an actual license. In terms of features and protections, there are no differences between a trial and a real license — you get all the same features, updates, and protection. The difference arises in who can install it. If you have used Norton AntiVirus 2014 in the past, then you might not be able to install an extended trial and thus won't be able to get this freebie. (If you haven't used Norton AntiVirus 2014 in the past, then you can get this freebie.)

You get free updates for six months

Why not just download AVG? I have never had a virus and i have been on some shady sites… :p

Viruses are the least of your worries..AVG isn't going to stop the Federal Police kicking your door in!

      • haha no its not that serious

  • I agree

  • Can anyone even remember when they released a good AV software the last time?

They have been good while there was no competition

Norton is not the bloatware and system hog it used to be.

I've been using it for a couple of years now and it has picked up things that AVG and Avira didn't.

Each to their own though :)

    • Not sure if I'd want to be with a company like Norton. A few years back I was running their Norton 360 and a virus took over the machine. I called them up requesting help as I didn't want to reformat and since I'm paying for their product, I was hoping it would include service as well. After an hour on the phone with someone who seem to know little to nothing about computers, they told me to pay them $150 for one of their technicians to help remove the virus from my system. Seeing as how I paid $100 a year for their software, you'd think it would protect my system, and if it didn't, they'd offer a service to assist in removal of the virus.

Since then, I've shifted to BitDefender and haven't had a problem since.

  • If you don't think this is bloated you need to try Bitdefender or Avast.

  • There is nothing wrong with Norton these day but this is pretty much standard since you usually get pay to use the full 12 month version.

Who honestly pays for anti virus these days. Such a waste of money

    • "Who honestly pays for anti virus these days."

      Newbies.

  • Installed Norton recently on a brand new computer, and it caused the computer to hang on shut down, and would have to force shut down the computer.

The software is a virus, rather than anti-virus! After uninstalling, the PC shutdown fine.
