  • The product appears to be superseeded, there is now a wireless bluetooth version compatible with Apple IOS and Android 4.0 smart phones:

  • thanks

very timely - just at Doctors this morning and recommended I get a monitor

  • Can it be claimed via health cover ?

    • +1

Yes, if you GP writes a letter. Be warned, medical records at insurer will be updated saying you are a high BP patient and could potentially affect your Life Insurance. There is no free lunch :)

      • Yes. Beware of this. That's what my GP told me.

        • Thanks. I've never thought about it.

i'd trust an omron over this thing. some of the comments claim it is inaccurate.

plus the cuff seems to be integrated into the device. the wrong size cuff for your arm can produce significant inaccuracies in readings. make sure the cuff size suits your arm

This needs to be plugged in to the phone to be used; which is stupid. It's easier to just manually enter the reading into an app on the phone than plug it in. Plus, it's the old 30-pin Apple connector (the pre-iPhone 5 one).

You can get the iHealth bluetooth one for maybe $20 more; or Withings finally have a Bluetooth model coming out shortly. Or there's the WiFi one that launched via crowdsourcing a couple of years back.

What ever you do, get a good one that provides accurate measurement and ideally standalone. Omron has been doing a good job for my parents and easy enough for them to operate it themselves.

One of the small benefits of donating blood regularly: free blood pressure measurements.

    And sausage rolls.

    • +1

      Are the sausage rolls free?

You should post that as a deal on its own. Two birds with one stone - OzBargainers score free food, community scores lifesaving blood donations. Win win.

I've always wanted to donate but they knock me back due to being below the 45kg weight minimum. poo.
