  • It mentions K-12 institutions and doesn't appear on the same space as the Australian website. Is it U.S. only?

    cbf trying

    • I've tried. it worked for my vic.edu.au email

  • I wouldnt bother the Australia version is like $500 overpriced compared to its us model, unless your craving soon to be outdated versions

    • There was a difference but when it came out, it was $1999 before GST, and also came as a 128gb model in the US, whereas the aus model was 256gb minimum. i think they were asking around $150 US to upgrade to the 256 gb model, and you could bargain down if you bought it at jb hifi.

The price difference wasnt that much at the end of the day.the 2014 model on the other hand…

The Australian Razer blade 2013 128gb is 2499, while in the us 1799 same storage, and the brand new 2014 Razer blade 128 gb is 3199, while the us is only 2199 albeit us dollars but still wtf razer

I have a 2013 blade. I game on it three hours a day, I work on it 8 hours a day, then use it for 2 hours for streaming services. I really like it.

    having said that:

    • Screen is average at absolute best
    • 1600 x 900 res with poor colour.
    • 765m is now no longer the standard and has been replaced by the 860m.
    • you can cook an egg on the power button after about 20 minutes of gaming.

It was slightly overpriced when I paid $2500 for it, but the build quality is extremely good, as is the overall design and feel. It is very compact, and very light, and the battery is also very well designed too.

Overall, unless they have dropped their prices significantly, its not worth it. I'm talking at least a 30% drop when you take into account the above factors.

Student discount is just a guise for getting rid of old stock to young fools.

Also, Razer are price gouging the Australian market in a similar fashion to Apple with the price comparisons on the 2014 blade between the US and Australia, so f*** Razer.

Get the new MSI GS60s instead of this.

    • I want to see you cook that egg!

Surface pro for uni, desktop for gaming. I'd rather not restrict myself to mobile graphics that can't be upgraded.

OH and it also means that I can't play games while I'm meant to be studying in uni or at the library.
