7800X3D-9070XT-BF25

Howdy folks, component prices and availability are biting hard and those rises are starting to be reflected on PC Part Picker, but we've managed to drop the price on an 7800X3D | RX 9070 XT combo for Team Red fans, along with a 120mm ~220W air cooler (Deepcool or MSI in use), and 750W Gold PSU, for Black Friday.

As with other recent deals, we're offering the MSI B650 Gaming Plus ATX board as an upgrade - it does require a swap to the MSI 321R case or upgrade to another ATX case as it won't fit in the default CX500 MATX case.

A reminder that all TechFast PCs are:

  • Unmatched in terms of value, $ per frame, bang for buck - you name it, it does not get cheaper
  • Fully professionally built, stress tested and packaged for transport
  • Provided by the most active and committed OzB PC builder for 6+ years - we are here to stay while many others have come and gone, leaving Ozbargainers in the lurch
  • Plug and play with all drivers installed, no matter which OS you select
  • Fully supported by a local team via email and here on Ozbargain
  • Fully insured for transit at no extra cost
  • Fully warranted with transit covered both ways in the event of warrantable faults

Delivery ETAs 10-15 business days.

I get lots of pings and messages, but confirming isn't currently possible to offer anything on RTX 5060 Ti, RTX 5070, or RX 9060 XT, nor anything around $1000. Those deals have been ended and I don't have a clear picture when they might be coming back sorry!

      Oof, why?

      • +11

        Wrong colour.

    • +20

Meanwhile in the real world…all-time low, in the face of significantly rising prices. Check retail sites for 32GB RAM prices now - stupid prices and quantity limits everywhere.

      • +3

Pity no 1k builds got a mate on pension whos 1060 build gave out last week.

        • +1

fr. This same combo is found on Nebula and apparently they're more reliable. Not to mention they've had theirs running for ages now and it's the same cost.

    • +6

What should it be? It's not fair to take ATL prices in the last five years (inflation and weakening aussie dollar). Not to mention the builder needs to be able to make money.

    • +3

Thank you for the detailed breakdown.

    • +2

      Bad you.

    • What would you consider a good deal? Guessing some combination of unobtainable prices?

  • +3

    Any chance for another Ryzen 7500F, RX9060XT 16Gb / RTX5060Ti 16GB or even a RTX5060 deal?

    • +2

He addresses this in the post sadly not… it’s annoying as I was about to pull the trigger on the 5070 build when it disappeared 😭 hopefully nebula pc can step up to the game

      • +2

Same.. was going for the RTX5060Ti 16GB deal but it was taken away yesterday

    • +2

Can't believe there were so many ppl like me out there.
Honestly smth like this is superfluous for me even if I run it at 4k.
I hope that $1400 5070 build comes back one way or another…

  • +3

    Any cheap deals

  • darn this is a good one!

  • +3

solid deal. should offer a 9800x cpu upgrade option too

  • +1

Wow crazy price drop since I got almost the same from them in April for about $2400

  • +5

Isn't the $60 worth the 3 year warranty for the Nebula deal?
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/930028

Is there any other differences I'm not noticing in Luke's deal?
$200 upgrade to 9800X3D from Nebula seems tempting as well!

    • +5

Yeah, Nebula seems better, especially if you want to upgrade a couple things.

    • YES.

      Basically…

      • Techfast's RAM timings aren't listed - may be CL32 as Nebula imply
      • Biwin SSD vs Kingston SSD - Nebula have speeds listed and Kingston is a known/reputable brand
      • Nebula list their specific PSU rather than potluck.
      • Great work. Also worth mentioning Nebula comes with 3 years peace of mind warranty

    • +6

Nebula has such a better deal on this, not to mention stories from Techslow have suggested that their stress tests may just give u a hunk of metal and plastic.
I'm waiting for Nebula to release something better than this smh.

      • +1

Nebula is going to win as they are going to release a mega ITX deal

        • where was this posted? have been looking for an ITX build

    • warranty is nothing. You have warranty on all parts regardless of what they offer. I'm still considering Nebula but they dont have any mATX cases to go with their mATX mobos

  • +3

Surely one would wait for Black Friday?

    • +1

I might have to do that tbh.
Them not bringing back the sub 1500 deals kinda lost it for me. I'm taking my business to Nebula they've already offered a better deal than this and they're more reputable.

    • +1

Bear in mind that the RAM (especially!) and SSD prices are skyrocketing atm. I bought a 2*16GB RAM on Sunday @ $289; Monday nothing happened; but immediately on Tuesday (yesterday) the merchant increased the price to @479. It's crazy to the point where I feel blessed that the merchant actually honoured the transaction and sent to me, instead of telling me "sorry our bad our inventory count was wrong and let me refund you".

Anyway I got a sense that the bargains we're getting today from GPU & CPUs go straight to RAM & SSDs. F us as gamers as there's never a chance where you can win 100%.

      • Hmmm… That's very annoying. Fingers crossed. I am glad I bought the $1000 6700XT budget system from Enigma (Since dissapeared!) when I did.

  • This or PS5 Pro at $1199?
I want to know how much performance on Linux I’m getting for nearly double the price.

    • +1

double the price but no ps plus to fork out and games are cheaper on PC with steam sales + you can sell your gpu down the track to upgrade and these 9070xt will always rake in $7-800 even in couple years time

      • I don’t really care about the benefits of owning a PC, I already have one.
Besides, if the PS5 Pro came with a disc drive at the base price, I’d happily buy that over another PC, since I use home consoles as a way to play physical copies of current-generation games that I can then resell later on.
But since the PS5 Pro doesn’t have a disc drive by default and SteamOS exists (in some forms), I just wanted to know if the perf/$ scales at least linearly compared to the PS5 Pro when the PC has SteamOS, since it should give me a more console-like experience overall compared to using Windows.

    • +4

The PS5 GPU spec is similar to the RX 6800 (3840 RDNA2 shaders on 256bit GDDR6). That puts it in the ballpark of the 9060 XT, which DF confirmed in practice.

The 9070 XT is double the 9060 XT in terms of CUs and memory bus, which gives around +66% performance in games on the same CPU.

Add in the 7800x3d vs the ps5 CPU (8 zen 2 cores, no 3d vcache) and you're probably getting close to 2x the real world performance, depending on the scenario.

  • Haha, this is what I wanted.

  • I don't play game at all. I open multiple programs, such as Word, excel, Access, Powerpoint at the same time. Can I get a system without GPU, and just use CPU?
Is 32G RAM enough? Should I get this system or other suggestions? I want 2.5G ethernet LAN.
    Thank you for your advice.

    • +1

No, you won't need a dedicated GPU, but make sure whatever machine/CPU you get has integrated graphics. 32GB RAM is a good amount.

This system is complete overkill for basic office tasks, you won't be using any of the components to their full potential. You'll be leaving a lot of performance (and money) on the table. Better off getting one of those $300 refurbed office desktop PCs (OptiPlexes and the like) which will more than suffice.

    • For your use case, you’d be better off looking at the different mini PC deals on this website than asking here.
      A good starter: https://ozb.me/o/3u51

    • -2

Looks to me like you need this machine for work, in which case no you don't need a dedicated GPU. But be careful if 32gb RAM is enough for you. Gaming on 32gb RAM is easy I'd say; but working on 32gb RAM you need to be careful. E.g., Excel can easily eat up your 32gb RAM. I'm dealing with 541,687 rows with 193 variables, in csv format, in Excel. It easily eats up 26gb of my RAM. I'm on Mac though but you get the sense.

      • Thank you for all your reply.
I am not sure the quality of "mini PC" and how long it can last. It seems most of them has only 16G RAM, at most 32 G. It seems that from the comment of "The check Please" it may not be enough.
If 32G RAM is not enough, is 64G RAM enough? Which machine/build you would recommend?
Does this AMD CPU have a built in video component for display?
        thank you.

  • +1

Are there usually many pc deals at Black Friday time as opposed to the weeks before? Rtx 5070 builds $1500 and under seem to be dead and I’m stuck with my gtx 1070 and Ryzen 5 3600 wondering what to do

    • Would like to know too, before pulling triggers out of FOMO!

    • In built sound as in speakers? No.

In built sound as in an onboard audio chipset? Yes.

  • +1

Is the extra $360 for the 9800x3d and 5070ti worth it over the 7800x3d and 9070xt? Looking to buy my fiances sisters a new pc as she is finishing HSC soon

    • +1

I'd say it kind of depends on what she wants to play/do. The 5070ti and 9070xt are very similar in terms of performance, but 5070ti is much better for ray tracing in games and some work applications. The 9800x3d doesn't have a huge difference to the 7800x3d, but on average you might get 10% more fps. This build also has a slightly worse case than the 5070ti build (one less fan for instance), so it would actually cost you about $390 extra if you were to buy the cpu, gpu and case for the 5070 ti build separately when compared to this prebuilt (so buying the 5070 ti prebuilt would save you $30 in upgrades).
Either way, it just depends on the kinds of things she will use the pc for, as both are very capable builds.

      • 5070ti is much better for ray tracing in games and some work applications

What does this mean in practical terms? Better quality on-screen graphics? Smoother animations?

        • +1

Better performance in ray-traced workloads (eg. Cyberpunk 2077 with max RT, you'll get higher FPS with the NVIDIA card), and better GPU utilisation (and thus performance) in apps that favour NVIDIA cards.

But tbh the gap between the 9070 XT and the 5070 Ti in ray-tracing is quite close… path-tracing is what AMD cards still suck at.

  • hey mate. I sent you a DM. @luketechfast

  • +1

Hey @luketechfast any deals around the $1200 mark on the horizon?

  • +4

Would love a deal for about 1600-1700$ as i have a budget of about 2000$ for a PC and Monitor+Mouse and Keyboard

can't wait to see whats in store for the next couple of weeks!

  • Can this run Crysis? That game has been on my backlog for nearly 20 years because I never had a system that could run it.

    • +1

nar mate. this machine can run crysis 1000x over

  • @luketechfast any chance of R7 7700 or similar paired with 9070 non xt variant this BF?

  • how long does techfast take to pick and ship an order? been seeing some horror stories of orders taking forever to be filled
