how does it compare to a Philips Air Fryer (in case, you have one to compare)?

    • Haven't personally used the Philips ones but in terms of functionality pretty similar. They have a few different capacities but generally all have adjustable temps (up to 200 degrees celsius) and 30-min timer. Not sure you need anything else!

      • thanks

      • What's the regular price? I know you've said $149 but they were also $119 back in January, I can't find anything indicating they were $149.

Also, what's the failure rate like? How many have you had back after what period of time etc?

        • +1

$149 - It was just dropped to $119 around a week ago.
Failure rate is very low on this unit < 0.5% compared to many electrical items which can be 1-4%

        • It was $119 in January, express delivery also seems to have doubled in price in the last couple months too. If you only dropped it last week, how could the price possibly be the same back in January as it is now?

          Decent failure rate if accurate.

        • Yep but it was also $149 in March.
Express was under-priced initially by mistake. The unit is heavy and expensive to ship with Express Post. Price should be adjustable based on Post Code with our website revamp in around a month

      • I don't think this machine could keep up with the Philips Air Fryer especially the Philips XL model.

        • +1

Is that based on any solid reasoning? Or purely speculation?
Please share your thoughts (if they are informed and valid).

The reason behind Philips being one of the best brands and better quality. This looks like a cheap knockoff. There's a reason why the Philips Air Fryer is $249 and this is $149 down to $99. There's no way this could be any where as good as the Philips Air Fryer which is the cream of the crop.

        • +3

Don't be tricked by marketing from Big Brands. Our pricing isn't low because it's a cheap product, it's low because we are a challenger brand and you aren't paying a premium purely for our name. The quality of this unit is excellent and while the Philips ones might have better features, this is a base model and still does the same job.

So your reasoning is purely based on price. Thanks for clarifying that. You are a salesman's dream customer. Bose and Alienware must love you.

          Anyone have any credible insight?

        • I notice the product page doesn't state warranty. What are the warranty terms on the Avancer Air Fryer?. Just saying customers might like to know about warranty.

        • Click the 7 day warranty link, it's all in there. Was wondering the same myself earlier.

        • I see it's 12 months warranty. The Philips Airfryer comes with a 2 year warranty so this one has half the warranty length.

        • Extra $30 for 3 years warranty or $60 for 5 years. I guess people would be wise to take up the extended warranty.

Looks like the same one just a different colour. Shipping will probably vary by destination. 3 year warranty is only $10.68 if added at checkout, 5 year $13.35.

Adding extended warranty before checkout costs more so if anyone ever does do this with Kogan, wait until you're checking out as it may be cheaper there.

        • +1

The Kogan Airfryer probably comes out of the same factory in China.

        • Re free shipping - noted, but the Kogan one is $10 less to begin with and the extended warranty options (if you're into those sorts of things) are considerably cheaper. $60 for the 5 year Avancer one, $13.35 for Kogan.

If anyone plans to get one with extended warranty, the Kogan one is clearly a better choice. Stat warranty will cover for maybe an extra year but I doubt it'd go out to five on a $90 item.

        • Haha, it is identical. Gonna go with the one from Kogan.

        • -1

Kogan price is $112.17 with delivery so more $$$

        • We're happy to give you a 3 year warranty for Free, plus our one comes with a recipe book

        • We're happy to give you a 3 year warranty for Free

So should the deal/coupon now include the 3 year warranty or is that just for bjonbjonbjon?

        • How to claim that warranty store rep?

i bought their slow juicer, i have been used almost 2 years now, never failed. bought 2 for my neighbour and 1 for family in overseas, none of them fail. and every one happy with this slow juicer. expensive doesn't mean always good, you are paying more for marketing!!! be smart ! don't be a smart a** :)

        • how long is the warranty? return post will be bear by avancer?

        • one person negs the truth… there is an odd one around here…

        • SOLD! To the engaging rep who wouldn't take being one-upped on warranty… Thanks OP, very happy with this.

        • I feel special, don't take that away from me.

I wonder how good is this model compared to Phillips Airfryer or Rank Arena Airfryer.

    Anyone can advise?

    • I was pretty much interesting about airfryer, saw in TVSN and it seems to be good,
this one got analogue button for temp and timer, phillips got digital button,

  • is this better compare to Avancer or Rank Arena?
    http://www.dealsdirect.com.au/sheffield-chip-air-fryer-multi…

  • I'm not familiar with this thing, but how is it compared to Tefal Actifry?

  • I have the $25 air fryer from deals direct (they had a sale with free shipping) and it works just great.

My mother in law has the tefal (very similar in every way) and the food comes out exactly the same, however the tefal broke down after 1.5 years, $90 to fix (or about 50% cost of a new unit and nearly 4x the cost of my cheapy, just for a repair) . They paid the repair, when I found out I called tefal who said "if a customer makes issue with it being over 12 months we fix it free, if not we let then pay". As they'd paid not much can be done, but they did send a free trying pan Lol.

In short, buy the cheapest available, outcome (food) is the same. I'm considering this as no air fryer has great capacity, 2 would be handy.

    • $25? for a air fryer? I wasn't aware of that sale.

      • It was last year and sold very quick. I also got a mixer delivered for $40 :-)

        • lol. Good bargain!

    • Which brand please was selling for $25? :)

      • I'll have to check tonight, but it was their home brand as such. It was a 24 hour sale iirc

  • I have the Philips Air Fryer XL but please dont compare a $400 item to this $99 Item…

In saying that all they do is push hot air around and I would say the Philips would be faster and have more power, yer the philips is 2100 watts, the cheapy is 1500 watts hehe

  • Just noticed the price has gone up to $119 so no longer $99.

    • It was always 119, it's 99 with the coupon.

      • Ahhhhh. That's right. My mistake

  • Looks the same as the Kogan one I own. I'm quite satisfied with that one. This is a steal @ $99 delivered.

  • Gave this a run on the weekend (it was delivered much faster, I'm just bad at unpacking), works a treat. Very happy with these guys— 3yr warranty and return postage costs covered for a product that cost me $100, good delivery and good communication from them regarding the warranty upgrade… Thanks OP, can see myself using you guys again.
