Fees for running BPAY?

All the pages I've looked at hide all the juicy details of BPAY behind a contact us/your bank form. I'd like to ballpark the feasibility of BPAY for a small non-profit I run.

Does anyone know:

  • The fees
  • Do I need to pay a licence fee (that'd be stupid) for BPAY's QR code feature (I've already reversed engineered it)
  • If there an account with low/no fees that supports BPAY.

  • Not as cheap as you would hope it would be.

    • Yikes!

  • You could setup a merchant gateway that (apart from credit cards) also takes BPay.
    www.StrataPay.com.au is an example.
If you go with them please PM me first for referral credit each.

    How much does it cost?
A once only registration fee of $199. StrataPay transaction fees are so simple! They are:

    • $2.75 per transaction for Australia Post

    • $2.50 per transaction for all other payment options

    • an additional 1.80% for Visa and MasterCard

    • The potential costs to you are: Reversals, dishonours or insufficient funds incur a $35 fee, which you can pass on to your customer.

How long does it take for monies to be deposited into my bank account?
All monies take 2 to 3 business days to appear on your bank account.

I like the idea of using your BPay numbers on your credit card statement which would cost you nothing.
Problem is you cant track who has paid you, unless the payment amounts are unique, or they email you a remittance/screenshot of payment.
