navman pc software sucks, touchscreen responsive sucks… However, i find the routing and the onscreen interface quite good. gives u time & distance to destination, speed, all the info on screen..etc the other brands u can pick and choose between 2-3 information. Also, i like Navman center of street feature, no need to specify a street number. Also, it lets u choose economy, fastest, shortest route before u start traveling. Maybe its just me, i find Navman routing better, perhaps its bcos its an aussie company?! I currently have top of the line Garmin, i think i will switch back to navman next time..

"perhaps its bcos its an aussie company?!"

First it was pavlova, then Crowded House, Russell Crowe (you can keep him), and now Navman? :)

"Established in 1986 as New Zealand-based Talon Technology, Navman (as the company became known in the 1990s) is a GPS systems company…"

To be fair, it's now US owned.

        But it really sucks :-b

      • Mitac is a taiwanese company

navman suck as far as upgrability goes… it was cheaper to buy a new navman than to upg my old one

but when the s/w works it works well but i think they went wayyy downhill after mitac took over

Navman is the worst compared to garmin and tomtom. I would recommend to pay an extra $20-30 and grab a nuvi garmin from JB

  • I've got one of these, they're not bad at all. The big screen is great, as far as screen responsiveness, don't expect iPhone responsiveness but it's ok. Voice recog works fine too. The annoying things are slow boot up times and mine has a dud battery, but it works when conneted to the charger. I paid $150 when I got it, for $60 I think it's a good deal

    • Agree, for $60 it's a good deal. I got $200 (ouch) almost 2years ago from JB. It's OK if you will use it in the city, but it was pain in the a$$ when you use it for rural area. It guided me to the middle of nowhere in the jungle when I tried to go from Melb to 12 Apostles and I have to use googlemaps to guide me back on track! The route provided was ridiculous. most of the time, it guided me with the weird directions, and sometimes wrong turn. If only I can turn back time, for $200 I will definitely choose Garmin. Now I just put it back in the box and rely on googlemaps.

      (-) : battery, touch, routing
      (+) : traffic conditions, bluetooth, 5"
