i'm sure IT & computers are in the top 5 at least..

lol did you read the post? It's not in the T&Cs.

Though I certainly would have expected IT & Computers to be there.

  • Yeah free shipping is worthless unless it includes IT and computers.

I used this offer so I've given it a positive vote.
I brought some pillows that were on "special". Hope there nice :)
They normally deliver quickly (I'm in suburban Sydney) and it arrives 2 business days after I order items.
The packaging could be better (I've had boxes broken/ripped (for example exercise equipment that only had its own box, not any other wrapping or packaging)).

OO.com.au is just as fast and they pack very well (at least for what I;ve had delivered so far anyway).

    • Arrived today. Cheap pillow covers.
Pillows were squashed (but OK when air back in).
      I'll try them later.
Certainly not worth what they claimed they normally sell for.

      • The ACCC has been informed in relation to many false strike through prices by a number of traders.

I was looking at one of the items on the list for free shipping
a couple of days ago and the price was $79.95 + $9.95 for postage.
With the free postage offer now on, the price has gone up to $89.95!
Free shipping…hardly, just adjusting the prices.

I'll email them and see if they'll give the item to me for $79.95 WITH free post
as I wanted two of them, never know!

    • Their prices change like the position of a Yo-Yo (even when there is no free P&H).

I have ordered few items through them in the past and found that they are cheaper in few cases, when you exclude shipping cost (hence this post).

Other than that fact, you are always better off, when you buy stuff in brick and mortar establishments as you can have the look and feel before buying. One of the reasons for the popularity/growth of these online sites is the way the product is presented rather than the actual quality of the product.

    • Yep I agree, the products price they CLAIM is worth (or sold somewhere) is WAY overinflated.
My pillow cases were very low end/cheap ones.
They claimed my pillows & cases were worth 300% more (hence 4 times the cost) then what I paid.
I'd say what I paid is reasonable, I wouldn't call it a bargain.

I read some reviews on things at Dealsdirect (which people can't do at COTD) and they still sell (well at least put up for sale (if people buy them who knows)) products where all the reviews are negative, so they are knowingly selling CRAP (if people read the reviews first then maybe they wouldn't buy the item).

That is exactly true but because they spend a lot on advertising adverse comments against them are deleted.
Fortunately the ACCC doesnt delete comments.

      • The very simple explanation is that your previous comment was unpublished because OzBargain is not a venue for you to "devote my time to destroying the people who destroyed me". It doesn't matter who your feud is with, it doesn't belong on OzBargain.

By all means please use the ACCC as your forum instead. If any business is dodgy, I'd like to hear about it from them.

Dealsdirect seems to allow negative reviews to be written and allows them to remain.
