For anyone who miss the Doogee DG-350, I think this deal is better.
For almost the same price you got the better quadcore Samsung Exynos 4412, the same processor in Samsung Galaxy S3 International version.

    1G RAM with this kind of spec is still very limiting. Why can't they put more RAM in?

        don't be a fool and a communist - according to the experts on Ozbargain, if you don't have more than 1g ram then your phone won't even turn on.

    The specs seem to be inconsistent. some sites state the Newman N2 does 850mhz, and this site states 900mhz 3G.

    Are there actually two seperate SKU's or is a mistake?

      Take battery capacity with a grain of salt, most vendors overstate the capacity, and usually it ends up being much smaller than what is advertised.

      Would not be surprised if it actually measures 1800mah, like a lot of THL phones.

        Normally if you devided by two then you'll have the actual capacity.

        2500mAh = 1250mAh

    I doubt its the same chipset as the Samsung galaxy s3… the quadrant score is half of what the s3 achieved.. 2700~ vs 5400~
    Even the s2 reached 3000~
    Hmm on gizmochina it got a score of 4700~. This site has actually given a wrong screen shot of the Newman n2, or the internals are not the same.

      different roms can produce vast scores

      example, stock sgs2 quadrant doesnt get over 3000

      a clean custom rom on 4.4(slimbean for example) can easily do over 5000+

      this is why custom roms support on android devices are so critical and you should steer clear of chinese generic brands even with decent hardware as the chance for software update is unlikely.

        +1 its mainly due to the fact that mediatek refuses to release their source code for the firmware. I read somewhere that Sony had leaked their source for their xperia C with MTK6589 but the last time I checked It hadn't made much progress. There are actually some that put out regular updates its just simply because mediatek is limiting them from upgrading to a newer version. Though there are rumors that 4.4 will come to all the relatively recent chipsets of Theirs but they are all still rumors.

          There is an Xperia based ROM available for some MTK phones, though don't know whether that as leaked or official source. Haven't tried it on mine as am happy with an Oppo based ROM.

    Importantly, this phone supports Regional Optus 3G. Most Chinese phones are really only completely suitable for Telstra's 3G network.

        It will only work on orders over $100 and for new accounts, which is why you add the screen protectors.
