Got $460 in Amazon gift credit refunded, need the money, best items to resell in AUS quickly?

Hi,

not sure if this is the best forum to post this but im curious…i got a refund from Amazon, and since my card was stolen since the order, i got my refund put into an Amazon gift card account, meaning I can only spend that money on Amazon items..i need that money to repay something I bought on credit card thinking i would have the money in my bank account, not amazon…

i am wondering what are some items that i could buy from amazon that ship to AUS that i could easily resell here? I dont want to make a huge profit, just get my money back mainly, but ensure the items sell, perhaps something that is way more expensive here than in the US?

Cheers folks!

Mobile phones, maybe a moto g/x?
you may need to purchase from .co.uk

  • shouldn't you contact your bank about getting a refund? if you used the cc to purchase goods on amazon?

    • i did, they said its up to amazon to do that refunding, apparently they couldn't, and they are unable to transfer to ANY other bank account other than the one used to pay initially.

hence them paying me back to gift card credit =s

  • I would try and sell the Gift Card credit as is; say $450 for $400 etc.

  • cant do that, i tried buying a gift card, with the gift card credit and it wouldnt let me use it for that, has to be an item….very frustrating!

    • :(

      that's horrible

Ok I think I understand what is going on.

    1. OP buys an item
    2. OP has cc stolen, revoked and new card issued.
    3. OP returns the item in 1. for a refund.
-> Amazon cannot refund to the card because it's been revoked.

unable to transfer to ANY other bank account other than the one used to pay initially.

Didn't you pay by card? Talk to your card issuer about it. I really have no idea. You can't be the first person this has happened to.

I don't know if you have to be in the US (fake it) to be an Amazon seller but why not sell something to yourself?

I have experience similar problem with cc lost and changed to new card, the refund still process through to the old card and bank will still be able receive them
not sure if there is a time limit tho

better to ask your bank first whether they can receive the refund if amazon refund to the old card number

      • I agree. I also lost my card but was still able to do a refund back onto that card as they merchant had my card details.

        • hi all, yeah everything here is accurate, usually they would be able to but for some reason, they couldnt refund to my bank account through my new card, i did pay by card, and i have no idea why they couldnt do it, its quite strange!

ive rang the bank and talked to amazon, im pretty much stuck with the credit lol

        • I'm not surprised that they cannot refund to your new card (as different card numbers), they can only refund to your old card!! It is the same when you buy stuff in Aus and need refund, they will only refund to the card that you swiped. Otherwise you would have made a cash advance on the card.
You should just tell amazon to process refund back to the card that you have swiped.

Ask your bank if they refund to the old card whether you will still receive the money first though.

        • I returned something to apple and they were happy to put it on a new card, although I was there in person so could be treated slightly differently.

Any new Apple items will sell very quickly, and close to RRP too.

  • Wait for a new apple product release, and buy the iPad or iPhone and sell. Apple product do not drop in price much or at all if still unsealed.

Don't know if he can wait long since he has a purchase on his card he needs to pay off

Find someone who already wants to buy something from Amazon, purchase it from your accout and have that person pay you the money for it?

  • How about Sandisk Sansa Clip+ MP3 Player? Buy it in bulks so you can offset the shipping cost and beat the cost of ordering amazon.com from Australia. I love this mp3 player & really think people in Australia deserve to have more variation of mp3 player other than sony & ipod.
