Needed an extinguisher, thanks OP. Never hurts to be prepared.

Timed nicely before the cold months really set in, and heater use peaks. Dem fire hazards.

(still waiting for my free Quell fire blanket.) :(

  • Shame about the fire blanket - was $4.99 last year. Still decent price though. Also worth getting some fire extinguishers, one for each car, one for kitchen and one in the bedroom in case you get trapped.

i question the warranty on these things

you buy them, stick them on the shelf or in the boot of your car

when you use it and it doesnt work and your house or car burns down, are you gonna go back to aldis and get your $15 back?

    doesnt make sense

    • okay, I lol'd

Most importantly, does the warranty cover fire damage?

  • For those that don't know - the fire extinguisher is powder type, which means if you use it in your house or car say goodbye to ALL the electrics. That stuff screws up everything and gets in everywhere. It will put the fire out but you will have a huge repair bill.

Fire blankets are a very good conductor of electricity, they usually have wire throughout them. Keep in mind if you ever need to use one, use it for it's intended purpose only. Just stuff from a recent fire training session I attended.

I am looking very keenly at their 4 camera dvr system for $299.

Bear in mind, I guess, that any electrical appliance that has been on fire is probably not going to be of much use after it has been on fire, so what difference does it make if it has powder through it? Better than having the house burn down?

It applies if you have a fire that's NEAR something valuable.
