  • Anyone used these? Are they any good and do they clean well without leaving bleeding gums? And how much are the replacement heads for this model?

I've used these. They're good and clean well but if you get bleeding gums you're either pressing too hard or you've got problems that warrant a dental appointment.

Any replacements from the oral B range can be used, and they range from expensive to not-too-bad when on sale, e.g. http://www.shavershop.com.au/online-store/oral-care/toothbru…

If cleaning teeth makes gums bleed best see a dentist and see if there is any gum disease. Tooth floss cleans out the debris and makes healthy gums.

    • Just let the motor do the work and you'll probably be OK

<40c per generic replacement head which seem to last OK.

        Steptoe your link didn't work

Trishool - are you female or male? Some medications including contraception cause gingivitis. If its medicine induced then it won't go away until your medicine does.

Get yourself a gently one with has a pressure sensor - it will stop when you press it too hard against your gums

        • Have you used these personally? Just that I bought something similar from eBay before and they worked for 1 week, then the brush head stops rotating if you put any pressure on it.

        • Thanks to everyone who replied with concerns regarding gingivitis. I should clarify that I havent used a motorised toothbrush before and was considering getting one for me and my wife, but didnt know how harsh these would be on gums or whether they should only strictly be used for teeth. My gums and my partners gums are fine, I just didnt want to fork out for a device that would result in me having gum bruises or cuts :-)

  • reminds me of the good old days

    • …when Warnie was punching above his weight.

  • Are any of these the vitality range? Apparently they don't have pressure sensor which is what I'm looking for. If anyone has tried please let me know

Edit- yes they are, great!!! Thanks op

We have the type with the pressure sensor and it is over rated, not sure if they have improved, but ours just has a LED light that comes on when you press too hard (which is never) - just remember that with these high speed mechanical toothbrushes, you don't need to apply much pressure at all.

Note: Not sure about these "lower end" Oral B range, but I bought a spare once for a trip at Coles/Woolies - it was a piece of junk compared to the "high end" model we bought for $130 or some such amount on a buy one get a 2nd one free promo once.

I got one tonight. I absolutely love it! Nice and strong. But there is no light when charging so you just guess when its full.
