Purchase stuff online and item has bad quality - what is your rights?

Hi all,
I recently purchase 2 t-shirt online for about $33 dollars each.
It took ages for the items to arrive (about 3 months) as they mentioned that the item was from overseas and they had trouble along the way.
After 3 months finally the item is arrived.
I am so disappointed because the t-shirt is very bad quality!! it looks cheap, thin and just not worth the money. its white in colour and it so thin that when you wear it you can see everything!

I know I might not have many chances to get my money back but any information/ suggestion on to file a complaint or etc will be appreciated. just in case anyone have experience things like this in the past

Thank you

Not sure if you have a leg to stand on as it was purchased overseas and don't think anyone in Australia can do anything. Only thing you can do is contact the company and tell them your experience and/or give them negative rep on Ebay if that's where you bought them from.

If you use them for a wet t-shirt competition, you've got it in the bag….

You cannot do anything about "quality" issues, despite what the law says.

"Merchantable Quality" have always determined in the Sellers' (not customer's) favor in past Court cases.

Theory is, the customer should always examine a sample beforehand and it's always the customer's fault (if it matches this sample, of course).

    Buyer Beware!

  • Which company is it?

  • There's not much you can do unless you can prove that the items you bought are unfit for the purpose or not as they were described. For example, if the shirts were advertised as cotton and turned out to be polyester, for example, you would have a leg to stand on. However, to say that the quality wasn't up to your standards is very subjective and would not stand up in any complaint and surely not in court.

Your best bet is to never buy from them again. Tell your friends and family about it. Post about your experiences online…etc.

  • tell us the company, that should shame them into refunding your money??

Yeah its www.pop.com.au. Their pictures on the website looked very fancy and all. There is a lot of editing going on there! Beware guys!! I guess i learn my lesson here, dont buy things online without reading their refund policy!

  • One of the cons and risks for buying online cheap
