      Expired.

    • It was the daily deal of the day.. but must've expired to the next daily deal

      I "bought" it for $1.99

  • What is the redemption code? I moved my audible.com account to Audible.com.au account awhile back, but somehow when I click the link, it credit my U.S audible account, not my Australian one. Does this apply to the Australian audible account as well? thanks OP.

    • You need an audible.com account to have this offer.

  • How about On the Origin of Species (Abridged) read by Richard Dawkins for a recommendation? 4.30/5.00 (359 ratings). $1.95 with the $5 off.

  • So, my Balance shows the $5.00
I buy a book & even confirm the purchase.

but… the book's price is not reduced by my $5.00 balance….???

    • I seem to be. buying in Audible.com (not …com.au)

will the $5.00 be deducted later?

      • UK answer my own Question: Yes, I would have been…

This long awaited book was added to Audible's list of products on 20th Apr 2014.

        i noticed it today.

Audible can't sell it to someone with an Aussie debit / credit card…!!!!!!!!

        These guys are HOPELESS…!!!

        • Not their fault, I'm sure they'd be happy to sell it. Blame it on archaic, idiotic publishing laws.

Sounds weird - you should see your book reduced by the $5 at checkout. Maybe try a different book and see if the price changes? audible.com is correct.

  • How to go through with purchase without needing to add credit card. I ave $5 credit which is enough but it still wants me to put in card????

    • if I add a card will any $$$ be deducted?

      • No they don't. If you have an Amazon account with added credit card you may no need CC deatils again.

There are plenty of podcasts that advertise a free trial membership (first book is completely free).

My cousin did the trial, then opted out, and they sent him an offer for the cheapest membership plan for half price ($7.50 a month for one book per month).

Try this one (Writing Excuses podcast): audiblepodcast.com/excuse

    • I have obtained the $5 credit and free 30-Day Trial Membership (1 Audiobook credit) but have difficulty finding/deciding on something to buy.

I don't know if it is the browse/search interface, content library and/or myself struggling to understand how/when to consume such a product offering even though I listen to news radio (headlines only) on the bus to/from work in the city because I also use that time on the tablet and I doubt I could effectively/simultaneously listen to an audiobook while reading/browsing email/Internet (to catch up on OzBargains, etc. :-) Have other's found (any) good/productive use cases/content for an IT worker in this scenario? Perhaps I should try to find something for driving as I do not like to listen to earphones while walking on a daily basis/commute.

      • +1

I only listen to audiobooks and podcasts while driving.
