Exercise, drink water. Cut sugar, cut fizzy.
126kg to 89.8kg. It was hard but worth it. Best feeling always having my clothes size available everywhere. XXL to M!

What are you eating as a vegetarian - things like fruit juice and too much grain need to be cut out.

  • As a vegetarian, you should be able to lose weight quite easily without having to try too hard.

Though some people when transitioning from a vegetarian diet try to feed their craving for meat with lots of sugary things.

I guess the best way we could help you is to know what your diet is now and how much exercise you do.

As a vegetarian, you should be able to lose weight quite easily without having to try too hard.

depends on what you eat. processed foods, starchy foods, grains & nuts all contain high calories.

  • lite and easy was my choice.

  • Try recording what you eat using http://www.myfitnesspal.com/ (they also have android/ios app). It will give you an idea of how many calories you use each day and how many calories you need to consume/not consume in order to reach your goals.

It gives you a much better idea of what each food contains so you can make your own diet.

As with all diets, it comes down to calories in vs. calories out. Meats are quite calorie dense so you should lose weight as long as you don't replace meat with more calorie dense foods (oils, fats etc.) If food alone is not working for you add some exercise in to increase calories burnt.

not necessarily - protein, fats, carbs require different levels of energy to digest/ calorie on calorie.

  • Get some sport equipments or apparel using your Rebel Sports voucher https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/141566 and start exercising.

  • Optifast!Works wonders:)

might be useful for motivating you to get you started, but ultimately could you imagine eating that for the rest of your life?

  • This book is science-based and excellent: http://www.bookdepository.com/Diet-Fix-Yoni-Freedhoff/978080…

  • Probably first step is to cut out all/most sugary snacks and drinks, no soft drinks and no "natural" juice made from reconstituted juice, watch out for things like muesli bars that's 20% sugar etc. Pick up habit of daily walking/jogging for 30-60 minutes. Apparently the 5/2 fasting diet works with some people and appears to be least habit changing….

  • There are so many options…

I am about to start a 2 shake a day diet to kick start my weight loss- you could check and see if any of these that are suitable for vegetarians.

If you need a structured program with meal plans etc, try Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig or similar. Otherwise there are plenty of books available to guide you and so many different types of diets. Really depends on your preference and what you'd like to sustain long term…

Also, it's always important to combine healthy eating with exercise for the best results (this is obvious but thought I'd add it for completeness).

high fat, low carb is working so far for me.

Of all the different diets shakes have to be the most pointless, I've never known anyone to keep it off after they stop and they start to taste horrible after you drink them for a week.
