Found a good place to have flowers delivered in Brisbane

Not sure this is a 'bargain' but wanted to share it anyway.

Wanted to get the Mrs some flowers to thank her and found this place that does free delivery in the whole of Brisbane: http://brisbanecityblooms.com.au/

I found these 10 roses in a box for $49.95 delivered (usually $79.95) called 'Ellie'

http://brisbanecityblooms.com.au/brisbane-flowers/ellie-choo…

During the checkout I registered a new account and got 150 points for registering. I could immediately redeem these points towards my purchase and 1 point = 10c so I got $15 off my order.

So, it was $34.95 for 10 roses delivered anywhere in Brisbane (I apparently get another 49 points for this purchase which would be $4.90 towards another purchase).

The roses came this afternoon about 2pm (I ordered last night) and my wife LOVED them. I have ordered 'Roses Only' before but she preferred these. I choose mixed bright colors and they are a mix of red and orange including some interesting shades.

Just thought I would share as $34.95 is a pretty cheap way to get some kudos with your MRS!

My only complaint when dealing with them is the note I had them attach ("Happy Valentine's") was just printed and pasted onto the back of a coupon. Looked tacky

    • I think they had greeting cards but not sure how much they cost

    • How slack is that? I'm sure there would be times that a print-out would be perfectly fine, but I'd have thought the vast majority would be better suited to a hand-written card.

      • I guess a print out avoids typos/mispellings etc.
You could probably ask for a handwritten note in comments section?

        • Poor spelling is as inappropriate as a print-out. There's no real excuse for either.

  • Posting so I can find this thread next time the boss is mad, thanks OP!

    • Yes, because there is nothing women love more than to receive flowers when they're mad about something you've done or you're apologising.

      • I try to pre-empt any potentially bad things I'll do by buying them out of the blue. It's like an insurance policy.

        • I think flowers out of the blue are a great idea. Every now and then I'll drop into the florist on the walk from work to the train station and pick up a single flower, it's normally only a few dolalrs to get a nice flower. She loves it, says its all about the thought and not how many/how expensive it was.

        • I have to walk past a cemetry on the way home….

        • It's hard to remove the smell of death from flowers

  • Thank you. Just ordered a dozen (12) red roses in a box for $50 including delivery for our anniversary. I got the points when creating the account as well, so total was only $35 + a few dollars for a card (to avoid the ugly printed note at the back of a coupon as per comment above). If they are nice, I will definitely order from them again, they had some other nice flowers too that I didn't mind (but for anniversary, red roses are safest).

Wish they has more accessories though, I would have happily spent a few extra dollars since it was so cheap. They didn't even have any nice cards, the few ones they had were all dark and/or boring, nothing brightful or happy or romantic.

    • So today the roses arrived.. about two weeks early :P

I emailed them and I got a reply very quickly with an apology and a promise to have another dozen delivered at our anniversary (ie the date I selected originally) free of charge. So I was very happy with the service. Would have preferred to have it delivered the right day of course and not have the surprised ruined, but under the circumstances I'm very happy. I also got a different card than the one I ordered :P But couldn't care less about that.

The roses were very nice though and came in a huge gift box to fit the long stems. Stems had individual water packs, so no problem keeping them in the box until you get home. Couldn't have been nicer, would not hesitate to buy from them again. Not sure how long the dozen for $50 is on for, but the OP obviously bought 10 for $50 so maybe it's somewhat of a regular for a bunch of roses around $50. Can't beat the value of that alone, and then you even get additional $15 when signing up.

Surprise your wife/gf out of the blue with a dozen red roses delivered to her work for $35 while it lasts, it is well worth it for the amount of brownie points you will get :)

  • The points for registration has ended.

  • Ordered flowers for the wife's birthday today but they never turned up!
