  • So You'll just get discounted books for a month? No free credits? Does this apply to New audible members only or can I uninstall the audible app and reinstall from app of the day? Btw you don't necessarly need to have a sub but it makes the books cheaper and you usually get credits (usually one credit is one book). If you don't have a sub there's a few classic old books and all other books are more expensive.

Also would one need to unsubscribe from this?

    • We just got $15 ($5 + $15) to spend at Audible.com on books.

I don't have the spec's on their monthly subscription.
Hopefully, someone will add a link to the right page.

      • Generally a monthly sub comes with at least 1 credit. Some go up to three.

    • I am not pretty sure if it works for existing members. For the matter of fact I never used Audible on any device. From previous bargains on OzBargain I know there are many people interested in audiobooks. So thought of posting this to help them.

There is not much information on AppofTheDay regarding benefits of the subscription. Anyone who already has Audible subscription can tell us the benefits.

2 free books, 30 days no bs app needed.

    • yeah thats a standard offer but I wonder if this will work for those of us who've already taken that deal.

Ummmmm…… the apps (http://www.audible.com/mt/Apps) have pretty much always been free…. and when you join up you usually [if you hunt you can get more than one month or book in that first month or deals like http://www.audible.com/t1/CJ to get three months for US$7.49 per month] get at least one month membership (normal cost US$14.95/month) that entitles you to get one free book to listen to on any device you choose? Not saying people might not be interested in this, but then again is it a deal if it's been like this pretty much for ever?

As an aside, you can download audiobooks for free here: http://www.booksshouldbefree.com/Top_100 [yes classic, not current, but what the hey]

    • Thanks for this, hopefully this will get me into reading (listening) books. I have already got two books that I have been wanting to read for a long time.

I have more than two hours of drive daily which I can make more productive :)

  • Downloaded the app. Downloaded Audibles app via that one. created an account. showing 0 credit :/
Or is this thing basically same as their free trial offer?????

    • bummer from what op has stated it sounded like one month of subscription with the discounted book prices that entails. Are you getting members prices?
http://www.audible.com/pd/Sci-Fi-Fantasy/Influx-Audiobook/B0… does this show as 27.97 while logged in or cheaper?
If cheaper then you are a subscribed member and have the discount.

As an Audible member, that shows as US$19.58, or one credit

I've got a yearly 24 credit membership for US$$229.50, which works out to US$9.25 per book (all books are 1 credit now). I'd recommend this if you have the time to listen to 2 books / month. You get all your credits at once and don't have to wait for a credit if you go on a listening binge, or a 2-for-1 sale comes along. Of course if you don't have the time, you can still use all your credits as you don't need a membership to keep your books. Once you buy them, they are yours for life.

There are also many sales including "Buy 2 Get 1 Free", "2 books for 1 credit", and daily deals which drop a book down to between $2-$6.

It's really easy to get cheap audiobooks.

For example, the recent US$5 credit posted here allowed me to buy 5x (US$0.99) audiobooks, details here, which combined with the current promotion of "buy 4 books, get $10" meant I got 5 classic audiobooks and a $10 credit, all for free.

        • Missed out on the buy 4 get $10 deal by a few hours - finished 2pm our time today, so no longer current :( wish i had seen it

        • That deal comes up several times per year. That's why I keep a list of those $0.99 audiobooks handy. That way I can always meet the requirements. Even if it means spending $4 just to get a $10 coupon.
