  • +1

    kidding lol

  • those are nice speakers. i heard they have a nice pitched hum sound.

  • Great quality TCL

  • Why is it expired?

  • +1

i dont get this. is this a joke? if not, why is it expired?

whats going on in this thread…

    • first one was a joke, this is real deal, not sure what is going on as I reported to mod(s) that this is a real deal

  • TCL has been making Tv's since the early 1980's and is now one of the biggest manufacturers of tv's in the world - I think they know what they are doing

    • i agree ;)

    • TCL is the number 1 brand in China because its cheap and affordable.

  • +5

    don't ozbargain drunk

  • I watched the tv and the sharpness is not as good as the LG or Samsung's (that's for sure unless you are willing to pay over $4000 or more for one of them), in general, not too bad for 'entry-level' 4K ;)

    • Not sure what the point is then. What is the quality compared to a 1080P?

      • higher density :),more pixels per inch ;)

        • +2

Well sure… But if those pixels look like crap (bleed, blurred, etc) - then why bother?

I've got a 1080P TV in the shed that is the worst TV I've ever used - a regular CRT displays a better picture.

          Just because it's 4K doesn't mean it's worth it.

  • Big drop from the original price sticker saying $2499. Shows how over inflated HN's original prices are when they can sell them for $1388.

    • +1

      $647 USD on amazon too

      • That $647 USD = $697 AUD = $691 price difference. HN's price is still highly inflated. Even the 10% GST & customs duty and delivery fee wouldn't account for all that price difference. That's a laugh.

        • think I linked the wrong model - the smart version is $1099… which is less bad

the HN is smart+3D… which makes it a U50E5691FDS …. can't find it for sale on Amazon

        • The model from Amazon is LE50UHDE5691 which is this one http://www.tclusa.tv/products/led/le50uhde5691/

It must have the same sort of specs as the one from HN but lacks Smart features.

        • Agreed. Everything in Australia are overpriced.

$691 is worth a punk even the picture quality isn't as good as the major brands.

        • US market only has the amazon model

just searched the AU site and U50E5691FDS is available

However it doesnt clarify what resolution 200hz is at

because for all the 4k tvs ive seen 200hz is only available at 720-1080p
4k is usually at 30hz, which is shithouse

  • Seriously, who would buy a Chinese made generic brand like TCL over Sony and Panasonic?

    • +2

and seriously, everything with different brands are mostly from China, what you think ;)? budget

    • +6

Since when has TLC been generic?. Now the likes of Soniq is generic.

      • I mean TCL. Although some TV's would need some TLC.

    • +1

If TCL is a generic brand then you should consider Samsung to be a generic brand too.

  • +1

With a brand called Tender Love & Care, how could it not be anything but high quality?

    • It's not called TLC, it's TCL. Make of that what you wish.

    • Tender Love & Care?

      LOL

TCL stands for "The Creative Life"

  • This is a slick deal!

  • +1

The good news it seems there is going to be little to no price premium of 4k when the big names pick it up - their ability to rape and pillage the early adopters on price has been taken from them by their lesser known brethren.

  • This Can't Last

  • If people can afford up to 3K for a better quality one, here is one from LG http://www.jbhifi.com.au/tv-lcd-led-plasma/lg/50-ultra-hd-3d…
