There are some games which you know will not be crap such as Mario Kart 8. You just buy it.
Then there's Titanfall and Call of Duty 72.

I think you "technically" have to wait for them to let you know its ready for pickup. Most times they get stock a day or 2 before release so in theory you should be ok, but I guess it comes down to whether they get their act together or not.

just go to ebgames at launch day for the game, ask for price match, they will call up the big w store you mentioned. if they have stock they will happily price match it for you. ebgames is really nice company. never had problems price matching with them :)
