Safe [Sandleford Bunker] $48.90 (Normally $72.00) Bunnings Port Kennedy WA

20

Sandleford bunker safe. 9.2l capacity, 200x310x200mm.

I saw these on special while I was doing a store visit at Bunnings port Kennedy today. They are normally $72.00 but are on special for $48.90 until 18/05/2014.

Only 2 in stock right now, but I am putting through an order for a few more to fill the shelves.

Not sure whether this is state or nation-wide, but it's a good price for a quality safe. Check with your local store to see if this deal applies, as Bunnings often price match local stores who have a similar item.

  • Not bad at all!

At this price point you'll normally get a crappy 'digital lock' safe… but this looks like pretty good value.
Comes with floor/wall mounts, and the lock looks like it takes a multi-toothed key (as opposed to a normal straight cut single tooth key).

A shame my local bunnings isnt doing it (neither is online), but plus vote to the local area peeps. Good deal for the price.

Just dont expect miracles. Sandleford website doesnt claim any abilities of this safe (no fire ratings and the like).

Internal dimensions = H195 X W305 X D155 mm (wide enough but not very deep… wont fit an A4 piece of paper).

But for $50, better to have this tucked away and bolted down in a bedroom somewhere, than nothing.
Just dont buy it and then NOT mount it. That's just asking for the crims to please take the whole safe and work on it later.

    Plus vote!

Bunnings used to sell those digital lock safes for $29.
      Now they're $39:

      • The one you refer to is a deleted model, the replacement is called the "gem". Here's the link. http://www.bunnings.com.au/safe-anti-theft-digital-200x300x2…

        • You should tell that to your webmaster too, then. :)

        • I would if I was a Bunnings employee, however, I'm a representative for sandleford. Thanks for the feedback though.

        • Ahh. Surely you can buy the Bunker model for even less, then? :)

          Is Gem a Sandleford brand?

  • Looks like it's good enough to protect against casual/opportunistic thieves - as long as it's bolted down solidly!

It's only made of thin steel though, don't keep high-value items in it like this poor guy:

    • $200k of uninsured gold/silver bullion stored in such a weak safe - not the smartest tool in the shed hey! Feel sorry for him, but wow…

      • haha yes.. definitely not very smart of him. He mentioned an online forum too, he must have posted about his stash online too. Almost sounds like he was asking for it!
