question though, can you drill stuff with these things?
These are perfect for smss asll jobs around the house. Mine are still going strong years later.
Ok ok. We get the drill.
Your comment really made an impact.
nailed it!
Impact-ful words
This is my favourite bit of this thread. The rest can be chucked out.
This deal is only for people who are screwed on.
All this loose torque is nuts.
come on this deal has been a pipe dream
Looks like we’ve hit the stud with that one.
drill baby drill
Elaborate?
This is only $39 and many people have used these for years and are happy for basic tasks so the response has a high chance of either saying to spend a lot more for more expensive drills or being a defective unit which can be replaced with warranty
Explain why they're rubbish, not just a vague negative comment
Is this impact drill decent for car suspensions or should I stick with my wrench.
I bet your wrench was more expensive than this set, hope that answers your question :)
And the handheld wrench is better.
You want an impact wrench not an impact driver for car work.
No, the power is too low and it only has a 1/4" socket adapter which would easily snap on anything likely even approaching its rated power. Supercheap have an 18v 1/2" impact wrench for $49 on clearance if you can find stock anywhere https://www.supercheapauto.com.au/p/toolpro-toolpro-18v-brus… though it's a claimed 300Nm which is a bit low IMO especially if dealing with rusty or partially siezed suspension bolts etc - but miles better than doing it by hand.
Don't bother with the toolpro 12v 3/8" version though, it has even less power than the XU1 impact driver, and wouldn't even get your wheels off let alone any more substantially tight bolts.
Great for mixing concrete I guess.
If by concrete, you mean paint or tile adhesive, then yes.
If that
Or paint.
Not with 1.5Ah batteries. Pair these with 4aah batteries.. half decent.
Thanks OP. Been looking for a small drill for basic jobs.
Wow, thank you for sharing OP
cheap as chips price level for a combo kit
Ordered one. Thanks!
Which drill bits should I get for these?
My sister works for me and she keeps borrowing my tools and forgetting to return them.
Ordered one set for her. Should be more than enough to drill a hole in the wall and tighten some screws on a chair (that's why she borrowed a drill and an impact driver last time).
Do all the thieves that reportedly steal power dills from Bunnings come back here and see this deal and think, darn, not such a great steal after all.
they wont be taking the bargain basement stuff
They got themselves into quite a pickle.
They go Ryobi up generally
Got one thanks! Always wanted an impact jigga for doing stuffs.
Can this drill through concrete?
No. You’ll want a rotary hammer drill for that.
If it’s anything like the ozito drill set I got 11 years ago for $99 then yea but not easily. I’m doing a deck at the moment and using 8mmx100mm concrete bolts to secure joists to concrete patio. If I don’t hit blue metal aggregate then it drills in easily.
I’m actually buying this set and will pick it up tomorrow so will let you know how it goes, my old oziti set went through the Lismore flood in 2022 and the batteries don’t last long but so far I have drilled about 50 concrete anchors with them.
The ozito set has been great for building my decks the first one out the front entrance was only about 6m2 and having the drill to pre drill counter sunk and the impact to drive the deck screws is great, the back deck is a big one at about 36m2
I work for myself in a non-manual job - I'm wondering if buying this set is a good idea to just have at work, not needing to have to remember to bring my set from home in advance of when I'd need them
of course it is, it is the ozbargain way.
Good idea. I’ve often thought having an el-cheapo drill/driver set for the office would be handy. Anyone able to comment how long the batteries last when charged but not used a lot?
I have never used a drill before as i lived in rental places always, very recently i have moved to my mother's house. It would be weird to ask anyone at house about these things :
So i am asking here : can anyone please tell me how it is used at home , for what purposes? Is there any video where i can see how it is used in the house ( probably for the maintenance or something similar. )
Would appreciate it
Thanks
Drill for drilling holes into walls, wood etc.
Impact Driver to screw things into holes.
Thank you
Like for assembling beds: this will help ?
Do i need to buy anything else for that ? ( I mean : different screw sizes: only heard they were using L keys etc)..
Will help for a bed, depending on the bed. Most use allen keys, the steel one I made did but I needed a screwdriver to attach the slats to the frame on an all-wooden bed. Same with building chairs, allen keys until attaching seat to the frame.
I used to be stubborn and hand screw everything, getting a screwdriver was a game changer. Also attached the brackets for new blinds to the windows with it. Good for removing old screws, etc. off walls/doors, too.
The drill is for, well, drilling holes. Think hanging fixtures for picture frames, wall anchor for shelving or even hanging TV if you're game enough etc. (make sure you know for certain there're no electrical/water/gas line in whichever wall you're drilling into). It can also double up to as an oversize electric screwdriver due to speed control and lower torque.
The impact driver is for driving big screws that require a fair bit of torque, e.g. doing decking or garden beds, building tree house etc. It's not suitable for flatpack assembly as it will over-torque and destroy whatever you're building.
For beds? Assembling : will it be useful /good enough ? Or needs screw heads? ( Like L keys or something i heard)
I dont think i plan to build any tree house or deck at the moment.
As mentioned before, furniture assembly often uses Allen keys so you’ll want to also buy a set of bits that includes various sizes of hex-head driver bits (same as the Allen key except shorter and not bent). Use the drill for this task and turn the torque on the chuck head down - these are the numbers on the side of the chuck, higher numbers give you more torque but lower numbers will stop the head turning too much and over tightening your fastener. This is the loud TCHK-TCHK-TCHK-TCHK sound you hear, the motor is turning but the clutch has released the head.
For once-in-a-while furniture assembly, you don't need anything more than a good manual ratcheting screwdriver, a quality bit set and a hex key set. Or an electric screwdriver with variable torque.
It takes more elbow grease but you will have much finer control with your grip, with power tools you can easily overtighten and ruin the assembly. Only buy this kit if you want to actually drill into a wall (which isn't rental friendly).
What does ChatGPT say about it?
Buy now think later?
Can I use the drill to polish my car?
Only if you don't love your car and/or want it full of holes
Yeah, works ok.
Thanks a tonne!
Was sick of carrying my Ryobi kit from home into our caravan, so happy to leave some cheap drills in our caravan for last minute fixes
$39 is the price of an Ozito discounted skin only driver. This is $39 for two drivers and bits. That's crazy.
Thank you for your impact-ful words
Lmao
I see my comment had a lasting impact on your funny bone
Drilled this deal into my brain with big impact
Who needs a screw loose when you can have a deal drilled into your brain
Can be used for cleaning after fixing a brush?
❤️
Any body brush?
For $39 why wouldn't you, for the home fix it jobs
For the occasional use, you'd be better off getting this even as a just in case options
Christmas present sorted
Didn't torque about it just bought the kit.
I hope the reviewers aren't Li-Ion and it's as good as they say it is!

Ozito vs XU1
XU1 seems to struggle. Maybe a few more $$ on the Ozito is better.
Ozito PXCDIK-250 kit is $89. Yes it's double the price but much more capable and 5 years warranty. XU1 is 12 months warranty.
"XU1 power tools are manufactured by Ozito, and are marketed as an even cheaper alternative for entry-level users and the perfect tools for one-off jobs."
waited too long, none in WA.
Ordered one. Thanks!
Built-in LED worklight is exactly what I wanted.
All the hot tradies will be using XU1 tools this summer.
Battery compatible to ozito ones?
Hard to tell from the pics. Looks more like Makita ones that most unknown "brands" from China use
**googled it
found a redsit bunnjngs page with a photo of the battery and its physically different from the ozito
so not compatible/ same
I bought previously at $49 and returned it because the battery didn't match any in my ecosystem of Worx, Rockwell, Ozito, Certa, SCA.
Tempted to buy again at the lower price but my Certa one still going strong as is my Rockwell
Looks like triton. I will check this weekend
Same price when I bought certa drills from Kogan 4-5 years ago. Annoying to have another charger for another ecosystem. EU should standardise tool chargers like USB C.
These look like a standard round plug directly into the battery
That's the charger, not the battery. The batteries are attached to the tools in the photo.
Crazy good deal. Thanks OP. Exactly what I need!
All oos. Can’t order
Oos in Perth :(
Thanks OP, managed to get one.
Great deal these aren't that bad have used the impact driver for some small jobs around the house
Bought this on 16/8 for $25 at Bunnings Notting Hill (yellow sticker/label special). They still had 4-5 units left on the rack at the tool shop at that time. Good for the price. The drill chuck on mine is a little off-center/wobbly, but the impact driver was strong enough to snap an M6 50mm coach screw in half when putting it into hardwood.
great for diy, but i would pay extra for ozito to get a bigger range of options to expand and stay. always deals on ozito. so much easier to stick with 1 battery platform to use with everything. less clutter since you don't have to have 5 different chargers taking up space. lol
Just flip it on Facebook marketplace if you need a better kit. Most people overestimate their need to use a drill/driver, let alone other cordless power tools. And corded tools (not tied to a battery ecosystem) would be stronger if you do need it.
i am not a tradie and i got ozito 18v drill driver combo as a gift. never need it really, but then started doing diy stuff at home. then when sales happen i have expanded my range of tools. lawnmower, trimmer, and blower to take care of the lawn. then fans and lights for outdoor camping and stuff. then got a vacuum, shop blower, inflator for the house. then got a multitool, saw, and recip saw for no reason, lol. just on sale.
i never expected to get all this stuff, it just happens over time. mine as wells start off right and get on the platform that gives you options.
selling anything on market place is such a hassle, no thanks. so many time wasters.
Everyone's different, at $39 you're not going to lose much money on a lightly-used XU1 kit on Facebook Marketplace if you decide to upgrade later.
I find that people often get sucked into getting tools and skins for only a few jobs they "want" to do, and then procrastinate/not do it and have them collect dust. Being a tool collector for the off-chance that you might need it one day can be an expensive hobby for many guys. I know because I was one of them when I was living with my parents back in NZ, but now I'm in Oz and I don't miss those tools at all.
My advice is to always get the cheapest tools for one job, if it doesn't work or breaks then return it (and pray that it's not from Sydney Tools as they don't allow change of mind returns), if you need a better one, sell the old kit on Facebook Marketplace and get the tool quality you need for your use case. Ryobi and Ozito are good ecosystems for homeowners who would want to branch out to the other garden and home-related tools; If you want to build something big then get the big brands like Makita or Milwaukee.
If you're renting then ask yourself "when will I ever drill a hole into a wall?", if the answer is "not very soon" then save the money, or buy some electric screwdriver, or a good quality ratcheting screwdriver.
Their little chorded SDS is a ripper for removing tiles. Was $70 with chisel bits, lube and spare set of brushes.
If I randomly search drill bits in Bunnings, would it fit the XU1 hammer drill? I need it for some home DIY work. Thanks 😊
Genuinely fantastic deal
