Fantastic deal if you are looking for Black switches :)

    • +1

Yes, but I will caution that black switches are quite a bit heavier than blue switches without the tactile feedback. I bought a keyboard with black switches and really didn't like it, it is definitely a matter of personal preference

Haha yeah :) I'm currently looking for brown switches at the moment :P

        • likewise. Haven't seen many outside of the cherry branded one.

        • Well, if you are looking for brown switches, Cherry invented them, and are the only ones who sell them.

        • The Kogan one is very similar, though a bit pricier. It uses browns. I have one, and it's pretty nice.

        • I got a DasKeyboard and its amazing. The keypress is perfect, it is still a bit noisy, but I like the noise, and the build quality is top notch, its a really heavy piece which I prefer cause it won't slide all over the place.

      Once you go Black Switches….

      • +6

        You never go… sandwiches? :/

      • +3

You immediately go back to Red switches due to excessive hand strain.

  • +1 for mechanical keyboards, this is definitely worth the price, for warranty

got a cheap mech keyboard from china, for like $60 delivered, and not worth it. Key's stopped registering after 6 or so months, very painful too type.

      … and keys stick to'o' much? ;)

  • Any programmable keys?

    • +2

No purpose-built macro keys or on-the-fly recording on this baby, but you can always go the cheap and cheerful route and use AutoIt, AutoHotKey or WinAutomation to turn those useless F-keys into macros.

      • Cool. Didn't think about using software to do it. Thanks.

        • Only problem is Punkbuster doesn't like them.

    • They sold out (I emailed them a week ago)

They ONLY have black switches left

    Wow $15 for delivery.

      thats PCCG for you.
I have the MX RED version and its quite serviceable as a FPS gaming keyboard (aka the keyboard to withstand daily abuse).

  • Got one a week ago, really a bargin as it has partial backlight (very cool red LED)

    • makes me wish it was full backlit to be honest.

  • Just got the red switch last week from PCCG, feel really goooood … definitely worth $69

  • Tempted

  • I would take red or brown. not too keen on black keys.

What is the difference between these "Black", "Red" and "Brown" keys i'm assuming you dont mean the colour?

      • +2

Let me see, black keys have high resistance but don't "click". Brown keys have medium resistance, click when pressed but don't click when released. Blue keys have low resistance but click when pressed and depressed. Not sure about the red ones..

        • +1

reds are meidum/low resistance with no clicks

        • Reds sound like the way to go when it comes to gaming and typing if you don't wanna make a shitload of noise from clicks. does this only apply to "Coolmaster" mechanical keyboards or all manufactures?

        • +1

This applies to all manufacturers using Cherry MX switches, which is the majority of most brands.

        • Very helpful in what bargains to look out for when it comes to mechanical guys, thanks!

  • Damn Ozbargains, must resist…….too late ordered one, kids go hungry tonight ;)

PS. here is a good webpage to explain the different switches

  • They had the mx red one but it sold out 1 day after i was going to buy it :(

I dont have a good feeling about getting blacks since people say you get finger fatigue etc. from it.

  • Cooler Master mechanical keyboards are great value. My first real keyboard was a CM.

Too bad they no longer sell the tenkeyless models in Australia.
