JOY20

HELP and SUPPORT—- check your delivery status from your invoice sent via email. If after a few days and it's not sent, then file a full refund of ALL products. They are obligated to refund all purchases as they have failed to deliver. You can refund all vouchers of your paid amount as per their Terms and Conditions. —-

Was looking around the carpets mady123 posted here and got me thinking of some loopholes like a true (noobie) OzBargainer

If you go buy vouchers (no postage - sent by email), you get $20 off minimum $70 spend. So you could effectively have almost 30% off anything (28.57% to be exact). You could even use it later date when other items go on sale.

I've added a screenshot instead to show you guys so just go to (oo.com.au). Search gift certificates and pick your desired card. Then select the value from the drop down box in any gift card (1x$20 and 1x$50). I've even tried the 1x$75 (thank you karma llama) and it also works

The benefit to this is that the code by itself (without doing vouchers) mean you have to spend minimum $70 but cannot include the cost of postage. I have yet to confirm whether the voucher(s) you buy can count towards postage. Either way you still save especially if you don't plan on buying anything now.

Worth noting this code needs to use PayPal (or credit card via PayPal) to work.

Also I wasn't going to gamble and try to stack coupon codes with gift vouchers (imagine stacking them over and over again…). If it works then good job but don't blame me if you can't.

With gift certificates you can:

  • Purchase any products from our range at any time
  • Spend multiple gift certificates at a time in a single order
  • Spend part of a gift certificate in an order leaving the remaining balance for a future spend
  • Check the remaining gift certificate balances at any time
  • Use the gift certificate at any time for a whole year

Buy someone a gift certificate when:

  • You're just not sure what they want
  • You are contributing money towards their purchase of a product (each certificate is effectively a further discount on the product they have their eye on)
  • You have too many people to buy gifts for - makes a great corporate gift

How To Order

Choose the number of gift certificates you would like from the dropdown list above and click Add to Basket. Proceed through the checkout to complete your order. Once we have received your order and confirmed your payment we will issue the gift certificate(s) by email to you.

The Gift Certificate

Each gift certificate is issued with a unique secure certificate key. Instructions are included in the email on how to check the balance at any time.

Redeeming the Certificate

Redeeming a gift certificate is easy. Simply enter the gift certificate number(s) as payment during checkout where prompted.

Checking The Balance

To check the remaining balance of a gift certificate at any time, simply browse to http://www.oo.com.au/gc/ at any time.

you can combine multiple gift cards in on transaction as per description from the cards. so pretty much $20 off every $70. I've edited post to quote that now.

  • Did anyone find out if the gift cards stack, interested in buying this http://www.oo.com.au/Sunbeam-MultiMincer-600W-Mea_P111787.cf…

    • +1

well I guess you can just use 2 sets of gift cards to save $40 as they said on the description multiple gift cards in one transaction accepted. or if your really keen, save $60 if you get 3 sets and have $60 left on gift card for another time/something else. but then again that means spending $60 more…..

  • thanks for your good work :)

Excellent post mate. Double the discount by using gift voucher first then another joy20 at checkout

    So 40 off of a 70$ purchase

    • How long did it take the vouchers to arrive in email? did you find out if you could buy more gift cards in a vicious cycle?

    • When you buy stuff using the joy20 code, are you able to pay with gift cards? I think you can only use Paypal to pay when using that code.

  • Anyone received voucher email yet?

The vouchers did eventually arrive; took about 3 hours.

I ordered a Sunbeam mincer for $149.95 plus $15.95 postage. Mincer here: http://www.oo.com.au/Sunbeam-MultiMincer-600W-Mea_P111787C16…

The mincer cost $149.95 plus $15.95 delivery.

I then bought $140 worth of gift-cards for $100; using the deal above.

Then I used the 'JOY20' coupon at checkout, along with $140 worth of gift cards.

The total cost was $105.90 delivered! In addition, I got an extra ~$9 back via cashrewards.com.au.

Bringing the total cost to $96.90!

        Great Success! Thanks OP!

  • about 2 hours

  • Thanks OP, used these with a free delivery coupon for new signups the other day and bought two golf carts with free delivery for $50, down from $90 without coupons.

  • Ordered 11:18 AM (6 hours ago) for 1 x $50 and 1 x $20 Karma Llama Gift Certificate, still no sign of my Gift Certificate

They Playland cost $29.95 plus $10.95 delivery

I then bought $280 worth of gift-cards for $200; using the deal above.

Then I used the Free Delivery coupon at checkout that i received earlier, along with $280 worth of gift cards.

The total cost was $380.80 delivered!

Bringing the total cost to $200!

    Great Success!

Thanks OP for finding the loophole from my OO.com.au Rugs Deal

    • Hi mady123. No worries. Thanks for your deal too as I needed a rug for my new place :)

  • Still no gift vouchers, anyone still waiting for their vouchers or just me?

  • Ordered gift vouchers at 3.45pm and still waiting…

  • I am also waiting not good lost money

  • Out of interest, when does the rug deal (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/143714) finish. Is it tonight or tomorrow night? If it takes around 3-4hrs for gift cards to come through I might give it a miss

    • rugs seem to be still on sale (last day today), although the $20 off is finished.

  • I want to buy the treadmill but the shipping cost is too much, any of you have free delivery or half delivery coupon? :)

  • expired

  • yeh I checked myself too and it seems to have ended. Pack it up guys. The show is over.

  • So got the vouchers but took so long for them to issue them that the code no longer works. So stuck with vouchers and a worse discount than if I'd got my iTunes vouchers at Coles.

    • you can refund them all.

  • I bought 3 $70 vouchers with code applied .. I only have 170 worth of vouchers instead of 210. They didnt honour the $40 of my last two vouchers

    • you can apply for refund of the last two vouchers if you haven't used them yet. Or you can refund them all if you don't want them.

    • I get the feeling maths isn't their strength… I ordered 2 x $20 and 2 x $50… and was given 3 of each instead… yet even though they were paid for and I've used them for orders… I haven't seen anything taken from my bank accounts (from PayPal)… odd!

  • Anyone else got their vouchers cancelled and no refund?

    • They can't cancel it and no refund. you'll get your money back otherwise dispute it on PayPal later.

  • Same here, as per my last post i could see $170 worth of vouchers but now i cant see any

  • Just wondering whether anybody has got their orders(purchased with stacked vouchers) processed and despatched yet?

    • Just received this from OO.com.au:

      "Dear Customer,
You have recently placed orders at OO using the promotion code 'JOY20'. As per the terms of this promotion, this code is only applicable to PayPal purchases and can only be used once per PayPal account. Therefore, we are required to cancel any subsequent orders that utilise this code or are not paid with PayPal.
The terms of this promotion can be viewed here: http://www.oo.com.au/promotions/
      Regards,
      OO.com.au"

  • no questions asked return policy:
    http://www.oo.com.au/warranty-and-returns-policy/

  • What will happen if we have already used gift vouchers and ordered something? my purchases from gift vouchers are still not dispatched and nor cancelled.

    • The wording of the email I got suggesting they were cancelling the whole thing rather than just allowing you to pay the $20 that was discounted for the Paypal code…

  • sucks i received the same email …

  • "Therefore, we are required to cancel any subsequent orders that utilise this code or are not paid with PayPal."

    I received the 2 X $50 gift-cards and bonus 2 X $20 gift-card. I've ordered my item using them.

I have NFI what's happened to my order now.

Hey everyone, as suspected that link they provided about the terms and conditions were NOT outlined in the email paypal sent out for the offer. I had a feeling they published that page AFTER they found out about THEIR error.

    http://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/183/22709/paypaloocomau…

The link oo.com.au/promotions provided by them in correspondence is fishy as they have multiple promotions running at one time and a single page of the affected promotion is suspicious.

If your sick and tired of them, then just refund all products you got from them even vouchers etc. Or you can wait to see if they get dispatched by checking online.

If this was DickSmith, they would of honored it and count it as a loss (worked with me before). Now oo.com.au will feel the brunt of the ozbargain community by decreasing in sales in the future because they can't be trusted in honoring their invoices.

    • i will wait and push them to honor my purchases.I have already used all gift vouchers, so there is no reason to cancel my order as its been accepted by their system as valid payment received for the goods i ordered.

  • We have given them hectic days during for sorting all these out :)

  • Anyone get a response when they've replied to the cancellation emails? I get a generic 24-48 hour reply and still heard nothing…

    • I got the same generic reply.

      • They've cancelled both of my orders (despite the first one being completely valid even with their updated T&C) and have only refunded half of the gift certificates bought.

Going to push for them to process it as I need that damn rug and blender!!!

  • i rang them today and asked them about my order, the guy at customer service accused me of fraud by using discount code twice. i think they want to cancel my order but not giftcard. i hope we have not a long fight in our hands along the way.
