    From today.. says 6th May

    Buy $100 and get $5 promocredit|Learn more
    From 06 May 2025 to 14 May 2025

Probably a typo or some weirdness on Amazon's end.

I tried the code at checkout and got The promotional code you entered cannot be applied to your purchase.

      • Same for me

        • -3

i think you guys are getting confused with the type of promotion. It is not $5 off $100. You will get $5 applied to the amazon account on purchase of a $100 gift card. So $100 paid gives you $100gc + $5credited to account. No promo code required at checkout

  • +6

I confirm it is up and running. I forgot to enter the promo code on the payment screen but still got an email saying I got the $5 credit even without it…

Thanks for purchasing $100 or more of select eligible Amazon.com.au Gift Cards. In accordance with the promotional terms, we have now automatically applied a $5 promotional credit to your account which will automatically be applied to your next purchase of eligible item(s) shipped and sold by Amazon AU.

    • I wonder if you could buy another $100 tomorrow, use the code and get another $5?

      • No, only once per account per the T&Cs:

The promotional code is single use and can only be redeemed once by eligible customers.

The reason you couldn't apply the code in the first place was because the promotion was already auto applied at the GCs landing page, which under the big green banner of "Buy $100 and get $5 promocredit | Learn more" will have a big green tick and say "Promotion will be included at checkout". I understand for these GC credit back promotions it automatically does this if you are already logged into your Amazon account.

I got an error trying to apply the code at checkout, but on the promo page it said my order (cart) qualified.

EDIT: It worked, got the GC and a separate email for the promo credit.

  • +4

Got the $5 credit in seconds. Promo code is not needed.

    • If it's like previous ones, the link can kinda apply code to account for you without manually entering it. It says "Promotion will be included at checkout"

  • Confirmed it’s worked

  • +1

Another confirmation it worked without the code :)

  • I too can confirm it worked without needed the promo code… it was frustrating because I kept clicking on the “apply gift card, voucher or promo code link” but it then only had an option for a gift card. There was no where for me to add a promo code even if I wanted to.

  • Hi can I check whether the $5 credit comes in after buying $100 giftcards pls ? Cos the promotion code doesn't work for me. Cheers

    • Try checking out any item sold by Amazon AU, where the promo credit can be applied

    • Can confirm received the $5 credit, if you click the link it takes you to the landing page where it says the promotion will apply at checkout, didn't need to use the code

  • Got the promo credit thanks Hippo

Confirm no code necessary by following the above link, when you check out the $100 gift card, it should display a "GC May Promotion" under the sumary.

As the $5 credit has an expiry of 14 May, I used it straight away to buy some much needed toilet paper.

      14 May 2026

      • Oops, misread. Thanks for the correction.

    • "This credit will expire on 14 May 2026" was in my email. And yes used direct link just then to purchase :)

      • Used to be expired in 1-2 weeks tho.

  • Miss the days when it was 5 off 20

  • Got it without putting the code in within seconds.

Just remember when you use the promo credit, it typically invalidates any cashback (Shopback, CashRewards, TopCashBack).

    • I don't think Amazon really enforce it, my orders with promo credits or codes always get approved.

      • I find the ones with codes frequently go through (especially where you aren't manually adding the code in at the end, and instead click a checkbox on the page of the item). But when it comes to Amazon credit, I'm either very close to or at 100% fail rate. I use TopCashBack most of the time as they guarantee some level of cashback for Amazon regardless of which category, but I have noticed that the occasional purchase just gets declined with no real reason (and when most purchases only give <$1 back, it's rarely worth kicking up a stink and chasing up as it's not worth your time).

    Say no to $5 credit!

  • Promo credits don't get refunded if you return an item. Learnt this the hard way.

    • Yikes - so what happens…they refund but you don't get promo code or any compensation (i.e. GC instead etc. etc.)?

      • They refunded the amount minus the promo credit amount.

I bought a rear wiper blade which says it suits my Prado for $19.xx. $10 promo credit was used.

Received the wiper blade but it doesn't go onto the wiper arm. So initiated a return and only got $9.xx refunded.

        • That's theft.

Contact live chat, they'll probably refund it manually.

      • Always worth a try to ask (the OzBargain way) as you never know who you will get, but as per the T&Cs don't hold your breath:

If you return any item purchased using the promotional credit, Amazon AU will only refund the price actually paid for the item (that is, less the value of the promotional credit) and the promotional credit will be invalidated and cannot be refunded or re-used.

  • Card and $5 arrived within a minute, still active

  • +5

It says, "The promotional code you entered cannot be applied to your purchase." for me

    • +2

Same, but still received the $5.

      • +1

        Same, and got $5 too

      • +2

Okay, trying my luck now, hope to get the $5

Edit: Got it within 3 minutes

  • Purchased, still waiting for the $5

  • Didn't get the $5 credit and purchased at 8:40am.

    • I am also waiting for mine

      • +2

I had to contact customer service and get it added manually. Took me 2 minutes.

        • +1

          Thanks. Done that and added

  • +1

Got this for mum's son, thanks

  • Is there a limit on 2nd transaction?
I mean anyone got 2 lot of $5?

    • Only one per account per the T&Cs:

The promotional code is single use and can only be redeemed once by eligible customers.

  • +1

Mine came through within a minute, checked out at 11.58am

  • I can only see gift cards in the $50 denominations. Did people have to buy 2x$50 gift cards or 1 gift card changed to $100 worked for you?

  • I received an email saying $5 credit will be applied for next purchase, but when I checked the gift card balance it's not there?

    • +2

Promo credits only show up on the checkout page.

      • When I purchase the card I got the promo code working.
However I can't see any email or even on checkout the $5 credit

  • OOS - getting "The promotional code you entered cannot be applied to your purchase."

    • Worked for me just now.

First I added a $100 card and copy n pasted the code and got the same error.
Then I added 2 $50 and manually typed the code and it worked.

  • Hm already bought that deal 😂 need to use wife's account next, she got this reward and I did not lol

  • Still active! Got mine just now.
