  • Anyone had the coles branded ice cream? What is it like? The reviews I found said it was watered down and tasted like sand.

The reviews you read were wrong! The PB one is rather nice

I've had the gooey choc brownie and peanut and they are incredible. In fact coles just won awards on these ice creams and the info is through the link

      • Good to know! :)
Going to try the brownie one now.

The powdery white sand, or the dirty brown sand?

    • My wife brought the pavlova flavour home this afternoon. It was passable.

The good news is that it doesn't contain any artificial flavours, colours or preservatives that are considered potentially harmful.

    • I tried Coles' 4L ice cream, it was acceptable, not as good as Home brand ones though, but prefer over Peter's which tasted like they used formula and not milk to make the ice cream;

In my own rankings, Streets and Home brand ones are top; followed by Cadbury and Coles. Some may not like Coles' as in very strict terms it does feel a bit sandy but I still enjoyed it regardless.

      The Rum&Rasin was pretty good

    • I just bought the brownie and the coffee one.
Coffee was okay… but the brownie one was amazing!

  • GUYS THIS IS THE BEST ICECREAM IVE HAD.

  • I had the gooey brownie one. Pretty good.

  • Honestly don't get the hype, they are all very sweet and not very premium in taste. Peanut butter is good though, only because other manufacturers are slow to make this flavour.

  • Thanks for posting! I love the peanut butter one as well as the gooey choc brownie

  • Love the Lemon Meringue! Reminds me of Yakult.

  • I know this is a website for bargains, and this is a good deal, just wonder how much they're squeezing the little guys with branded products that are consistently marked down? I try not to buy Coles or Wollies branded products

    • You think they don't squeeze the big guys? Woolies and Coles have controlling buying power in this country unfortunately..

    • So what are you saying - we should all be paying more for branded products that keep the profits and pay their ceo's millions while the common worker is on minimum wage anyways? what you're describing sounds incredibly socialist and I would consider myself anything but a capitalist.
I this case though - I do believe the free market should be kept free. There will always be a place for branded products, dont worry.

      • Nope - more worried about the suppliers of ingeredients. So few Australian brands left. Only 2 WA made milk brands available these days.

  • Don't buy any of the other flavours. They are all rubbish and I regret trying them. Only the peanut butter one is worth getting. Tastes like Snickers!

Should note that the peanuts are from china.

      • This is the case with many peanut products.

Unfortunately nobody realises that China peanuts taste bland.

  • Don't eat this is you are allergic to peanuts as it may contain traces.

  • Have not tried coles brand, but the sarah lee peanut brittle have been on sale $6 (vs $9) at safeway recently.

my wife and i both detest this brand. What a sham. The chocolate fudge ice cream and the peanut ice cream is yuck.We threw away the ice cream after three spoons each

'Detest','sham'?! Sounds like you guys need a nice big bowl of chill the **** out.

I've only tried the peanut butter flavour - nothing special.
I'll try the choc brownie next.

I have only tried the brownie one. I wouldn't say its great. I finished the tub I bought but I can't bring myself to buy another one.

      • This is how I feel about the peanut butter
I might give the choc brownie a miss unless other opinion sways me

  • Lemon meringue ftw

  • these ice creams are currently on special at coles (2 for 8 bucks)

  • Thanks for the heads up! Will definitely be getting the peanut butter one and maybe trying the chocolate brownie one! :D

  • Its very average ice cream… why not just buy ben and jerrys?

Great find OP. My dog loves peanut butter and he also loves ice cream. I am going to have a rather large smile on my face tonight!

  • The lemon meringue is far too sweet for my taste.

I recommend the Peanut and the gooey brownie flavour.

  • It's definitely one of those products you always need in the freezer late at night. Mmmm late night ice cream :)

  • One day I will bring myself to buying 500ml of ice cream for $4. I'll just stick to my Bulla tub of $7 for 4L for now.

  • Would anyone have know where i could view the nutritional values of these ice cream somewhere online? Or a photo?

  • Does anyone know if these are at Coles - Wynyard/Martin Place NSW?
