  • Avis and budget also have this
Avis and Budget are offering Frequent Flyer members double Qantas Points* plus a free single class car upgrade^, on selected car rentals of 3 days or more.

Double Qantas Points means you get a total of 6 points per AU$1 spent on time and kilometre charges, plus you also get to enjoy a free car upgrade!

Available for Australian rentals booked online and completed between 28 April and 31 August 2014. Quote coupon number UPPA016 and your Qantas Frequent Flyer membership number at time of booking.

    • Oh man I just booked a car yesterday with Avis using the MPPA014 code. Didn't realise this better one existed (extra points AND free upgrade)

      • Its free to cancel. And rebook. I do it all the time

  • 500 flybuys are worth $2.50. How much are 500 QANTAS points worth?

    • I think it's $3.33? From memory 1500 Qantas points can get you a $10 WISH gift card.

  • One of those offers similar to Coles and Wollies where they offer you thousands of bonus points that end up being worth couple of dollars…but rip you off pricewise…

  • If the price is good and you need to hire a car, then why not cancel any existing bookings and re-book. 500 (bonus) QF points + say 155 QF points ($155 for 3 day booking) = about 655 points = about $32 if used on QF Business class flights (about 5 cents redemption per point value) if you decide to use them this way

    • about $32 if used on QF Business class flights

Where can you get a Business class flight for $32 ?

      • Serious question ? You've never used a points based rebate system?
Let me help you with the concept.

Like all points schemes it is about collecting them then spending them. If you collect QF points then the best redemption value is to use on International business class tickets e.g classic awards, mASAs (booking until 30th June) or upgrades. If collecting points it is best to focus on a product / service you will actually use / need / spend money on. Then the objective in collecting the points is to not spend any more $$ to collect the points i.e the points are a by-product of your day-to-day spending (flights, credit cards, cars, bonus points etc). Then when you have enough you can redeem on the award / reward.

So if you are already going to spend the $$ then why not collect the points if they don't cost you anything to collect. Get it ?
