  • Hmm, haven't got a reply so far with two PMs about the status of my order.

    • Hello Cloudie, did you PM myself or Francesca?

      • Hi yes she did reply so am still waiting for the mail. Thanks and will post an update here if any further issues.

        • Well got my sd card however didn't come with sd card adapter as agreed. Hopefully anyone from Pc byte can resolve this concern of mine.

        • Hi cloudie9,

One of my colleague have gotten back to you regarding this.
Can you please confirm if you have the SD Adapter?

          Regards
          Francesca

  • I received it in the mail today. That was super quick delivery, very happy with that! It is exFat formatted out of the box. I don't know whether to reformat it to another file system, any thoughts?

  • Hello all, just an update. Most of the orders were posted today however somebody (not saying who) forgot to update them onto the system so she will be doing that tomorrow :P

The sale is still on until the end of tomorrow btw, so enjoy! :)

  • Rep, it's the USB otg 64GB drive compatible with the Nexus 5? And can you please confirm if the drive is USB 2 our USB 3.0?

    • I think it's a USB 2

    • To find out if it supported USB 2.0 and/or USB 3.0, I looked at the model number listed on PC-Byte's website and then used another website called Google and the very first link answered the question ;-)

  • +1

Just did some benchmarks on this drive with the internal card reader of my laptop.

Had like 40MB/s read 10MB/s write on my older laptop (probably not a great interal SD card reader), however on my other one these are my results from a short test.

    • MB/s = 1,000,000 byte/s [SATA/300 = 300,000,000 byte/s]

         Sequential Read : 43.880 MB/s
        Sequential Write : 21.044 MB/s
       Random Read 512KB : 42.268 MB/s
      Random Write 512KB : 22.621 MB/s

      Random Read 4KB (QD=1) : 10.520 MB/s [ 2568.3 IOPS]
      Random Write 4KB (QD=1) : 3.574 MB/s [ 872.6 IOPS]
      Random Read 4KB (QD=32) : 11.346 MB/s [ 2770.0 IOPS]
      Random Write 4KB (QD=32) : 3.531 MB/s [ 862.1 IOPS]

      Test : 50 MB [D: 0.6% (0.3/58.5 GB)] (x2)
      Date : 2014/05/17 14:12:23
      OS : Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 [6.1 Build 7601] (x64)

Surprisingly fast (especially for small files, WAY faster than my PNY 128GB flash drive, 2x for reading and more than x10 for writing)

Not a dedicated card reader or anything, just the one that was built in.

  • Huge thanks to everyone at PCByte, I forgot about my order and didn't realise that I had not received my MicroSD until this Wednesday (27/5), so I called up PCByte and Andrew was most helpful, sending out a replacement for the missing card (lost in the mail) and it arrived today.

    Thanks Francesca, Roland and Andrew!

    • You are welcome aim54x =)
