  • I had a quick look at the site too, it appears to be a "Holiday Inn Pomotion"

    • +1

      Whats a Pomotion?

    • There is an accomodation package on the "Holiday Inn Melbourne On Flinders" webpage.

      STAY CONNECTED
Make the most of a fun family getaway with Holiday Inn Melbourne on Flinders. Enjoy comfortable accommodation in a twin room, full buffet breakfast for 2 adults and a family pass to Medibank Icehouse for an exciting day of ice skating. Don't forget at Holiday Inn Kids stay and eat free!

      • This is obviously a targeted offer only for Hoiday Inn customers.

  • So what do you get?? passes in a pdf file?

    • Yes. PDF tickets that you have to download. They are not emailed, only a link to the PDF.

do we have to proof that we are staying in Holiday inn?

  • well that worked… Someone go to icehouse and test for me :-)

    • +5

and let us know if you had to prove you were staying at Holiday Inn!

  • Says they scan the bardcode and you have to show photo ID?

    • just means you have to prove it's you / your name on the ticket.

    • where is the barcode?

can I gather 1 random adult and 2 random kids and pretend to be a family?

    • +3

And offer them a 5% discount on the normal price? That's the Ozbargain way.

    • +4

I'm just going with the wife. I don't think they will say "hey, you need two kids to enter!"

Bought 10 passes for each family of my 10 broken marriages. Thanks OP

    Guest list
Start by putting together a rough guest list to give you a better sense of what your requirements will be. The size of your party will inform many of your planning decisions, including choice of venue, activities and catering needs.

Seems like it might be a corporate event by Holiday Inn and there might be a guest list. No harm trying though!

But the tickets have been available on multiple dates :-)

is there any catched on this ? ??

    • +16

You might get rejected at the door, have to turn and walk out the door with your tails between your legs, children laughing and pointing their tiny little fingers at you all while every single parent you pass by points you out to their little girls as an example of the kind of man to avoid when growing up. In other words, just another Friday for me.

  • Looks like some work experience kid is getting booted.

  • Maybe it's free access/entry but you need to pay for the ice skate hire to be able to ice skate???

    • Ticket says "Holiday Inn Pomotion - Family Public Skating with Regular Skate" - assume this means 'Regular Skate Hire'.

      • I obviously didnt read it! thanks

  • Do you have to specify a date you will skate when you get the tix or are they flexible use?

    • +1

have to specify a date, but no specific time needed.

  • Date don't seem to be working now. They must have stopped it.

    • Hi
      Thanks for OP.
      Still working

    • +1

Wasn't working for me on Internet explorer with the calendar drop down but got it working on Chrome

  • +2

Can confirm this works. Free entry and free skate hire all day.

    • +1

Have you tried it out there? Any ID confirmation/hotel guest info?

      • +2

Yes. No id or hotel guest info was required. They just scanned the barcode and said go thru.

        • Niceeee! :D

  • Been trying to contact them; no answer

  • +2

They don't need any proof from Holiday Inn; thanks for a great deal

  • what dates did you book for? / around? as it seems like back to full price

  • +2

Not Working… The staff found out and need proof from Holiday Inn (Kicked Out)

    • As in they let you in, then came found you asking for proof?

    • +1

Didn't let me in, the supervisor came down and asked for proof.

  • It now shows prices under the commercial link.

  • I've booked for next saturday (the earliest I'm free to attend). Can anyone going before then report back to let us know their success/failure to be admitted this week?

    • I booked for August (flying over for Port Power game with free tiger tiks) so maybe they'll forget?

      • Maybe book to stay at the Holiday Inn, then you can get twice the entry.

tried today and was told its a scam and not valid.

  • Called them this morning and was told it was a scam. Sounds like someone setup the promo incorrectly and easier for them to say its a scam!

    • Yes, it they had a meeting with options being (a)"Sorry we didn't think it through and now have to end the offer" (b) "Due to Global Warming" (c) "Look over there" then run (d) "These aren't the free tickets you are looking for" (e) "It's a scam" and (f) "All of the above". They went with (e) ;-)

    • Given it was on their official website, then aren't the Ice House admitting that they are in fact the scammers? Strange message to put out.

  • Scam?
    They're scammers.
    ACCC Report anyone?

    • +1

yeah .. good ideas . At least we need to make an official complain .

  • +1

Has anyone tried to use the tickets lately? Any success?

  • anyone gone lately? don't want to go into the city to have bad news

    • so did you try?

      • nah chickened out, havent even called

  • I tried and was refused entry.

but strange, it was not part of the terms and conditions that you need to show proof of staying in holiday inn

    btw the guy mentioned ozbargain
