Gruv Gear - 20% off Everything Including FretWraps and Duostraps !

10

If you're a guitarist or bassist planning on recording, Gruv Gear's FretWraps are definitely worth checking out.

I've personally just started using one and its quite amazing, it basically cleans up all the unwanted string noises whilst still allowing for the open string to ring. Its great for recording guitar solos, especially if you're doing crazy finger-tapping, string skipping or legato antics.

Along with FretWraps, GruvGear also put out some pretty cool products like the DuoStrap, something which I think would be very handy for those who play live for long periods or suffer from back aches.

FretWraps
Creative muting. Without the scrunchie.

Finally, a professional string dampener / muting accessory that every studio, session player, and tapping aficionado should have! Slide on a FretWrap to effectively cut overtones and sympathetic resonance during recording, live performance, two-hand tapping, or any creative situation where you need that extra muting hand for cleaner takes without the unwanted string noise or ringing. The adjustable strap lets you fine-tune the pressure and dampening of the strings. Quickly slides over the headstock when not in use. No special guitar modification, installation, or tools required - Yet amazingly effective!

Patents pending.

FretWraps come in 3-packs of the following sizes:

SM - Fits 4- to 5-string basses, 6-string electric and acoustic guitars
MD - Fits 5- to 6-string basses & 6-string classical guitars

Or you could save $20 and use a hairtie, piece of black stocking, strip of sock, a bandana (or part of one).
Grab some velcro and hotglue a small piece of foam to it and it's the same thing.
    7 velcro straps delivered, $1.29

Willing to bet that the strap by itself will do 90% of the damping, but if you spent a couple more bucks in a craft shop, you could make 7 just as good for under 10 bucks for sure.

Yeah i am cheap, but that's an insane markup for a piece of velcro and foam.

The duostrap however is worth every cent!
Looks geeky but i don't come home from a gig with a sore shoulder and back for days anymore!
