Free Top up 100% of Monthly Quota 3 Times a Year for Telstra Fixed Home Broadband Customers

610

Fixed Home Broadband customers* are able to top up their data allowance up to three times a year.

This means that any Telstra fixed broadband customer who has exceeded their data allowance, will be able to request their service is "topped up" to receive an additional 100% of their monthly download quota. This is able to be requested up to three times in a calendar year.

Existing customers will be eligible for 3 Top Ups from the 14th of April 2014 until the 31st of December 2014. New fixed broadband customers will be eligible for 3 top ups from the date their service activates until the 31st of December 2014. Top ups expire after the 31st of December 2014 and do not roll over.

Top Ups will only return your service to it's full speed if it has been slowed due to exceeding your monthly usage allowance. It will not work on a service that has been slowed by Credit Management.

In order to request your fixed broadband to be topped up, please call our 24x7 contact centre on 132200.

*Fixed Broadband services include ADSL, Cable, Velocity and NBN

Edit 25/05 - top up increased from 50% to 100% of monthly quota

    • No. This will help a lot of people. More than just the degen virgins that scour the forums 24/7.

    http://exchange.telstra.com.au/2014/05/15/giving-our-broadba…

    New article

The 3 x 50% top ups will become 100% topups

Effectively double data for 3 months.

ADSL customers effective immediately. Rolling out to cable in July.

Response has been mixed from customers requesting this service. Many employees haven't been informed and a very messy process thus far.

I'd really like it to be a button press on the account page to make this service as transparent as possible but currently hit and miss and not well advertised

    Never knew this existed…

    • i think this is new offer ? never heard about this before either, but from the link it says

"As of today the 14th of April 2014, Fixed Home Broadband customers* are able to top up their data allowance up to three times a year."

      • About time too. I remember a few years back with Telstra, they were so stingey. I went carelessly went over the 12gb cap, and called them up to see if they could help me out.
The stingey buggers gave me 1gb, and said that next time, they'd have to charge me.

Lemme get this straight. You went over the quota, they gave you a top-up, yet instead of thanks, they get derided?

Doesn't sit well with your vocal support of Liberal ideology…

        • Well, yea and no.
That was just a long story short because I didnt want to go off topic. I guess some more context would've helped.
Basically, whirlpool told me to do it (because I was young and believed everything on the interwebs). And after that call, and about half an hour on hold, I was ready to switch away from Telstra, which I did, and never looked back.

Im an independent's man, but sure.

  • Glad that Telstra has come to the party with 3 topups compared to 2 from Optus.

So for a price higher than what others have for unlimited, they let you waste time calling them to "top up"? :D

Well for those who are in suburbs monopolised by Telstra, this is still a good offer…

There's no unlimited cable plans at 100mbps…

  • Thanks for the info

  • Seems I may have used one last month without actually realising. Back in the day you had to beg them to unshape your internet and it was a lottery, couldn't do it too often, etc. The person I spoke to on Live Chat said yes straight away after I applied the traditional techniques. I only had three days left and I had no idea how much more data I was given or anything… guess I had 200GB and didn't know it?

Edit: It was before May 25 so I probably had 100GB. Oh well, good to know for next time at least.

  • Wish I had have known last week - aggggg. Thx heaps for the info

  • This works no problems. I just went on LiveChat and asked them for a data top-up. They checked my account and said no problem. Ended up un-shaping me for the remainder of the month. Party on :-)

  • Oh, and the pain of trying to explain this to the call center droids in Philpinnes/India 'you what want, sir? a frontal lobotomy?'
