Master has same product for $1317.

  • Great, but that is one really small freezer.

  • 2 stars energy rating! No wonder it's 1/2 price.

    Energy Use (p.a.) 685kWh

Perfect for my investment property teheheheh

  • It's worth reading here,

In this instance, make sure you read the comments. It looks like TCO (total cost of ownership) is very high. There are stacks of comments about repeated failures - and warranty exclusions for poorly designed shelves, etc.

If the comments are accurate, I wouldn't want that in an investment property :)

I guess Energy Efficency isn't on your checklist?

Whirlpool have a pretty poor name for quality & reliability these days (Google around)

    • Our Whirlpool washing machine just died after eight years, and no parts are available to repair it so it can't be fixed. The repair man was surprised it lasted as long as eight years, he said it's not common for them to last that long anymore.

    • My washing machine recently broken after 2 years of light use (2 load/week). It is out of manufacturer warranty period. Luckily I still have extended warranty though TGG. Whirlpool sucks. I never had a problem with Electrolux or LG in the past.

    • Very true, for reliability stick with known brands such as Electrolux, Fisher and Paykel and Westinghouse.

  • Don't complain about the 2 star energy rating when you want a large capacity fridge >600L. Best ones are 3 stars, using about 150kWh ($40-50/yr) less than this.

Be careful buying side-by-side fridges - despite being larger on the outside, they're often SMALLER inside than a smaller standard fridge. You end up with two skinny fridges instead of one wide fridge.

My family were staying at a friend's house one year when we found this out. We usually buy a huge turkey in December and keep it in the fridge. We did this that year, but the turkey was too wide to fit in our friend's side-by-side fridge. We had to drive home (luckily only ten minutes drive) to put it in our own fridge. Dad had also bought a large ice-cream tub, and it wouldn't fit in the side-by-side freezer. It seemed to only be designed to fit very small tubs of anything, completely negating the presumed advantage of having a fridge taking up one and a half times more space than our standard fridge.

Half price deal may be from the time this fridge came to Market. its misleading and cunning.
