  • Cherry Black not the best however…

    • I know. Only posted if someone is looking for a cheap mechanical keyboard for gaming.

    • I have a few mechanical keyboards (black, blue, brown, red and topre (hhkb2 pro)) and I can say I do love to type on the blacks.

They are all different, it would be hard to say blacks are any worse than the rest.

      • +1

The blacks seem to require more force to bottom out than membranes. People don't like blacks because of the distinctive resistance when pressing, while the reds have pretty much NO resistance.

        • -2

Is there any racial slur going on here that I'm not getting? :D

        • It don't matter coz its BLACK and WHITE

        • GIGABYTE Osmium Brown …….. needs very little force, look up tom hardware. + I own one :) .

  • Mechanical boards are priced from $100 normally so not a huge bargain, plus its Cherry MX Black

    • Its really cheap for ebgames, which most people can pick up from. Its one of the higher end ones, its a good deal only if you don't mind cherry mx blacks.

  • presumably if you buy from Golden Grove EBGames in SA you get an additional 20% off
They are having a reopening special additional 20% off everything in store.

  • I've mucked around with a few of friends mechanical keyboards , and by far the best is the GIGABYTE Osmium Cherry MX Brown. Look up reveiws and in saying all this, keyboard preference is very subjective.

    • +1

Mechanical is still mechanical. Since most mechanicals all use the same types of cherry switches, they shouldn't feel different. It just depends on the case, features and build quality.

      • Cherry MX isnt just Cherry MX though , and despite using a common switch they may require different amounts of force , I suggest you do some research. They can feel vastly different and some make irritating/louder clicking sounds than others.
