    • So.. What's the lowest price now? Your point?

    • That price is skewed as it involves a cashback.

Damn it. I was going to buy this but I won't be able to now, knowing that I could've had it cheaper a year ago.

My Oral-B Vitality brush is finally starting to bite the dust - it'll only run at full power every second day or so…

      • yeah those NiCd batteries do not last long :(

        • Are they replaceable?

        • Nope. You need to break the handle to get to the battery :(

  • I don't understand the difference between all these Oral-B brushes. I bought 1 last week from Woolworths ~$21, but there were 3 slightly different ones for a few bucks more. Now this for 2.5 times as much; what does it do twice as well ?

    • I use this model as my staple now. It lasts longer on a charge than the cheaper one, and it has more grunt (easier to use). I haven't used one more expensive than this, but recommend it over the cheaper ones.

My Vitality one lasted me 2 ye rs but the pro care on its 5th year and still going strong.

the main difference is usually nicd vs nimh battery
this one will have the nimh, the vitality will have nicd
also i think the pc500 has a timer + battery low warning light
between the pc500 and the pc1000 the pc1000 gets a pressure sensor warning light

  • Timer feature sounds annoying for someone like me who brushes methodically at my own pace for more than two minutes. How 'naggy' are the beeps?

    • +1

I think I have this same model - it doesn't beep, just does a little stutter of the motor every 30 seconds and a bigger stutter every 2 minutes.

I used to think it sounded like a stupid idea back when I had an older model without this feature, but actually I don't mind it, gives you a good idea of how long you've been brushing, and whether you're going faster/slower than normal.

  • I got this model when it was $19.95 after cashback. Its a significant improvement over the ones that are normally $20-30.

Also, wouldn't this be better value:

    http://www.shavershop.com.au/online-store/oral-care/electric…

seeing as it is the next model up?

    • Looks like it except for black isnt exactly i would want when it gets dirty but could see it.
