    Be careful when buying run of the mill Chinese mowers. I've researched mowers for the last few weeks and have consistently come across common advice..
    - beware of Chinese generic mowers
    - motor wise, either a Honda or Briggs Stratton is the way to go
    - many mowers have decks (bodies) that that rust out quickly (although, washing the clippings off cAn help)

    These guys have a slightly better model for $359 with Briggs Stratton engine that should reduce the risk. Supposedly, the BS motors are very reliable and easy to service.

    Check out the claim of "America's biggest selling" - I couldn't find anyone selling this model other than Alibaba etc (ie. Chinese importers)..

    I've also read a few good things about masters' brand of mower (909). They have one for $298 - it's bigger and looks reasonable. I've read that 909 used to be GMC.

    I'll skip this particular deal, but given that bulk purchase prices of these mowers are USD110 - the price of AUD259 seems reasonable, when you add postage, warranty, GST, etc

    Caveat: 2 weeks ago I didn't know how to spell lawn mower :) I have read 1000s of posts across various forums (not kidding!)

      Agree that the B&S is near bulletproof. I bought my first mower of a kid who was funding his way through college by getting old mowers off the street and fixing them up for resale! He told me that in 99% of cases with the B&S engines that all he had to do was change the air filter, spark plug and spray some carby cleaner through it!!!

  NEVER buy ANY lawnmower that is not powered by Briggs&Stratton or Honda engine brands

  These chinese donks come and go, and trying to buy something as simple as a air filter is a disaster

  Seems a bit dear for a chonda powered unit. Could be okay though some of the chinese motors are not much different to the honda or OHV briggs at all. It looks to have a aright quailty catcher and body on it, its a 4 blader too. Might be worth having a look and ask about part a availabilty for carb gaskets and air fitlers. You never know it might just take B&S 750 series ones.

  Google does not reveal that this is one of the USA's top selling brands. Hardly a brand at all, except by this seller.

  I wonder how they get past Consumer Affairs/ ACCC with statements like that. False and misleading?

    A: If they're not going to do anything about supermarket or fuel supplier chains, then there not going to be too interested in this guys claims!
    B: Those two words that he uses in his statement, 'one of', would exempt him from any such actions. One of? One of what? One of the Top 10, 25, 100, 1000? His claims are misleading, but correct!

  Depends on your budget. If you have a big yard, try and find the money and get a Honda branded mower… much pricier, but 100% of the pro's I've come across who cut grass use them (correct me if you've noticed otherwise). They are pricey but good warranty's and built to last. I've got one and it is a really nice thing to have.
